I will have about 15 disney gift cards in varied amounts. Is it possible for them to take the total of each card and add them all to a single disney gift card?

Rats - why must the simple stuff be complicated, lol.

If I use the MB to charge to the room - can I pay with all the gift cards the night before I check out? Or should I just sans the MB for room charging and use my gift cards?

Just make sure you check with the resort to make sure you fully understand their practices and policies regarding room charges. The point at which they go ahead and charge apparently varies by resort!

I am going to ask at check in to be safe (which is why I like talking to a person - sams the skip the room check in discussed last week, lol). I rarely spend too much as I am solo but I do plan on purchasing some christmas gifts.

Each resort charges differently. We have stayed at POP/CB/POFQ and they charged nightly. But when we stay at AKV or OKW they billed the day of check out...

Interesting. When I stayed at Pop a few weeks ago, they charged on Thursday night (we were there Sunday-Friday night). We were at about 80% of the resort limit at that point ($500), and it actually caused a bit of a hassle on Friday because apparently they had the older/expired version of our current credit card on file, so we had to pull out our plastic for everything on Friday lol. I know... the agony! ;)

Geesh.. that sounds like a fun time!!! I usually don't charge a lot to our rooms but it seems every trip is different... and actually this last trip in May, they royally messed up.. We had 2 cards on file for 4 adults.. and they put the wrong charges on each others accounts... but they were able to resolve it by issuing full credit and full rebuy.

And in December, there was one charge we never saw.. NO idea where it went to. It was only $4.. but still.

Good idea. You definitely don't want to wait until the last night. We tend to charge everything to the room and keep a credit card on file so they can put the charges through when we hit the limit ($500 at Values, $1000 at Mods, $1500 at Deluxe). Last year we were a party of 6 and we stayed in a suite at AoA. We weren't on the dining plan, so it didn't take long (2-3 days) to hit the $500 limit. I was planning to go to the front desk and pay down some of the charges with gift cards before they charged my credit card. When I went there, they had already charged the card even though our balance was only about $450. The CM said that at AoA (at that time, at least) they ran resort charge reports twice a day -- morning and late afternoon -- and if anyone was approaching the $500 limit, they would put the charge through a little early so guests didn't hit the limit and then find themselves out at a park and not have charging privileges anymore. We didn't have any balance at that point (since our CC had already been charged), so I couldn't apply the gift cards. I intended to go back the next day to use the gift cards but either forgot or saw there was a long line...too long ago to remember. So I went back during the afternoon on the day before we were checking out. Again, missed the opportunity and our CC had already been charged earlier that day. We did have a small balance at that point and I was able to use one or two gift cards and that was fine. I just brought the rest of the gift cards home and will use them towards our next trip.

Some people have reported that the CM was able to "load" their room charge with the gift cards but I have not be successful at doing that. :-(

The max the room charge can be before they charge the credit card on file is by the resort tier.

Value = $500
Moderate = $1000
Deluxe = $1500
Larger Villas = $2500

There is no way to change this.

You can pay down a room balance before you go using gift cards on the phone.
I believe they will not allow a negative balance to be applied tot he room using gift cards.

Honestly I found it easier paying with the gift card as I went. No pin needed. No hassle at the desk with cards at the end.

This is true. I think I may do my larger purchases with the gift cards. Then I will use the MB for smaller meals and snacks.
