Loking more into the Comcast bid for Disney I thought it might be good to do some comparisons.

AOL/TW
Jan. 2000
Before the merger- TW was worth about $75 Billion about the same price as the Disney.

AOL was estimated at a worth of $165 Billion. Comcast I heard is worth in the range of $60 Billion.

AOL was in the end of the dot.com age and then the bubble burst. Comcast is also on top in the cable and internet service but there are many more that can do damage.

Merger %: TW ended up with 44.76% the rest AOL.

Total Worth of the company in 2004- 240 Billion now worth 76 Billion.

AOL- got big through buyout like Netscape and CompUSA.

What they got rid of to pay off debt:
It's non key assest like music.

Disney/Comcast
Disney Comcast seems to replicating this deal.
The new market company buying the stronger older name. The target gets about 42-44% of the new company. The buyer markets slumps and debt gets bigger thus spinning off assets.
and four years down the road were will Disney be?

Would Comcast sell the theme parks?
Would they sell other beloved assets?
