WELCOME!!!!

I was in your same shoes about two years ago. I asked myself "is this for real??" and here I am getting ready to head to florida to be in the program this march through august.

First of all your questions can be answered by visiting the official website...wdwcollegeprogram.com. Here you will find that the program is open to ALL majors. As for getting paid your answer is simple. YES...This is a paid internship and guess what??? Disney even puts you in there own housing complexes!!! And no,,,there not your normal college dorms,, but condos with the works....such as a pool, exercise room, ect. Fill free to ask any questions on this board, there is usually someone with an answer...HAVE fUN,,,Radiohost:cool:

I'm a junior too, and I was actually looking more at the Careerstart program so I could establish residency in Florida afterwards and attend UCF. Right now though, the time periods for the program don't work out to well. Hopefully they'll be switched a little bit in the future.

That's too bad... You couldn't even do a 4 month period? Just wondering... I think they offer that too... Im not sure. But, I doubt they'll change it anytime soon.

You may want to research this a bit. It is my understanding that if you are under 25 years old, the residency requirement is not just for you, but also your parents. Unless THEY move to Florida and live there one year as well, you are still considered an out of state resident.

At least that's the way I read it and I hope I got it right, since my daughter wants to go to Rosen and the way I have it figured, she will have to sit out a year (hopefully working at Disney,) while the whole family moves to Florida. Thank goodness her dad's retirement date and her graduation date coincide.

If I am wrong, I hope someone corrects me!

Going by what it says on UCF's site, and the definition of a dependent by the IRS it looks like you are right. Looks like I'm just going to have to stomach the out of state tuition costs.

That really is a stupid requirement. If someone is living by themself and totally independent for a year or two before school they should qualify.
