College Program Question

Some representatives are going to be stopping by my college on November 4. Is the meeting most likely just informative? Or do they actually take applications that day to decide who to recruit? I'm very interested in trying to participate in this next year, but I don't want to accidentally fill out paperwork to get in just yet.

I've read other people's stories about the recruiting process, but it sounds like they did everything in one day. Just wanted to get some clarification and if possible more information.

These meetings are for recruiting college students. They let you know at the beginning though that you don't have to apply for it. The meeting you'd go to is for this coming Spring. It's fun just listening about it and watching the presentation. They have some REALLY cool videos that they show that those alone would be worth the time of going. If you don't want to apply, just leave after the presentation or stay around and talk to some alumni. They can help you with any questions that you could possibly have.

The presentation is very informational and you don't have to actually turn anything in. They do state that you don't have to apply to attend the program. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that some probably change their mind about applying while at the presentation. After it's over is when you turn in your application and sign up for an interview time. You can either stay and chat with alumni (as was mentioned above) or you can just leave after the presentation. The presentation is pretty cool, so if you're interested, you may want to go ahead and go to the presentation. This may help you decide for future reference, or it may just be a quick disney fix for the day.

Though remember if you want to apply you must go to the presentation. Here is where they set up meetings and such for you to interview.

Thanks for the info.

I don't want to apply for it since I like to finish up my first year at college before heading off to another state. I do know a female that attends my school who did the program over the Summer. She has filled me in with certain stuff about the program.

Chances are that they'll be taking applications and doing interviews. I went to one last year when they were here at my college, and I found it pretty interesting, even though I don't think doing it would help me much (I'd rather intern with WDI in CA!). They raffled off a $20 Visa giftcard and had trivia questions. I knew 99% of them and I got a WDW College Program antenna topper which was cool. I know that attending a presentation is required to apply and interview, so if you're even remotely interested in doing the CP, I'd go to the presentation. You won't find it a waste of time.
