Hey guys, I was just planning ahead and was wondering if I could get your opinion on something.
In the next year or two, I plan to do the college program and then an internship at animal kingdom. i will be starting my sophomore year of college in the fall and i would like to do the college program sometime during my junior or senior year. I plan to move to orlando after my senior year to start my disney career :) , what do you think is the best plan of action?: doing the college program and internship, one right after the other, my junior year; spread them out over the two years; or do the college program during my senior year and do the internship, that summer, after having already moved down there?
...hope i didn't lose anyone. haha.
thanks ahead of time for your advice!

Hmm, you should talk to someone at your school and see what kind of credit, if any, they would give you for either of those. If they would give credit for both, then go for them while still in college, because running around WDW has got to be more fun than sitting in a classroom!!

Here's the question, if you do your WDWCP will you be able to go back to college without wanting to stay down in Orlando.

I support doing the CP as early as you can (along as your school/loan lenders allow you to).

For me, it gave me a bit something extra to work for in school. Also I was able to take my experiences that I grained from my CP and apply them to things I was learning in the class room.

(fyi I was a Communication Arts major and did my 1st CP after my very first semester of college)

For example I was taking an organizational communication class (organizational as in business/group), and I was able learn the ideas and thoughts that my professor lectured about easier by applying them to the things I had seen and did on my CP. Also it looks very good when you are writing papers when you can apply experiences you already had with the topic you are writing about ;)

oh, I also got to add, doing the cp early means you can become a campus rep and help promote the CP (not only does it look good on your resume, but you also get some fun perks too) AND you can apply for Professional Internships that are for CP Alumni only

*Disneymagic*, I would would probably do the CP your senior year and then you could jump right into your intership. You can do your networking during the CP and be all ready to start. Living there will also make it more convenient. But what if some radical disaster happens and somehow you don't get the CP acceptance when you plan on it? It may put you behind, so you might want to do the CP earlier. You can still network and keep in touch with managers. I was suprised that my managers still remembered me a year after I did the program after having a lot of other CP's doing the program. Best of luck to you.
