Ive started a little tradition of brining home a tree decoration on each trip. (well i missed my first time, but have started ever since).
I was wondering what are the best places to get them? I like the ones with the date written on them so i know what year i bought it.

Usually all of the big stores have them. You could probably even find ornaments in the gift shop at your resort (if staying on Disney property). But if you want the best place for everything Christmas, go to the Christmas shop at Downtown Disney.

Im going in May, and were staying at POP.. will they have christmas decorations at that time? If not we will be visiting DTD and will have to visit the chirstmas store, and isnt there a christmas store in MK near LTT?

The best place (by far) to get Christmas decorations/ornaments is at the Christmas shop in Downtown Disney (I am not sure of the exact name). They can actually personalize ornaments for you and they come out beautiful (especially the glass mickey ears). I have stayed at POP during the summer months and they will carry some basic Disney ornaments even during this time. They usually have the basic "yearly" ornament. I also got a Pop Century ornament there too. To answer your question - Yes - There is a Christmas shop in the Magic Kingdom (Liberty Square). It's small, but they also do personalization. :xmas:

I also collect Disney ornaments and my tree is getting very full. In addition to getting ornaments every time I visit, I also collect the Disney Hallmark ornaments.

Have a great trip!

Its not THAT small :)

For some reason I find Christmas stuff in - cant remember the name - the shop in MK between tinks and the christmas shop. Most of stuff in there is coffee mugs. For some oddball reason I have found Christmas merch in there. I think I got a black "pirate princess" Christmas stocking in there once.

I get ornamets each time I go, but I get them from Germany in EPCOT.

I collect the plaid Christmas stuff. There is a throw, stockings, sled decoration, lantern decoration, and some other stuff. I get that either at the MK Christmas shop or DTD.

There is also some Christmas stuff in the store in Canada, but I have seen some of the same items at the store in DTD.

I also have a Disney tree....and it's full! But I love it so. Disney and Christmas, two of my favorite things combined :xmas:

I also collect the Disney Hallmark ornaments. The shops in Disney also sell items like stockings, tree skirts etc to I have some of those as well.

Oh, I believe MouseGear in Epcot carries some Holiday stuff as well.

We should start a thread closer to the holidays with photos of our Disney Holiday decorations......

We love 365 Days of Christmas store in DTD, always spend a ton. Our puppy ate many of our ornaments, our tree, and Tink topper (I really hope we can replace her)when we were on vacation last year (our neighbor was taking care of the animals):fork:. So we will be making another stop this vacation :sohappy:. I believe most of the countries in WS have ornaments as well (but then again, we're there during the holidays):p:xmas:

I always get one in the hotel gift store. I also check out all the shops in the parks as well as the dedicated Christmas shops. You never know where you will find stuff.

This year I am going to set aside a day and do some Christmas decorations shopping. I always get a few ornaments when I go to Christmas Around the World and MK - last year they had some good park-specific ornaments, even AK.

BUT I was really surprized to see ornaments with 2008 on them Christmas of 2007. Was that some big blunder or what? :lookaroun

What a nice idea! I remember looking at some christmas ornaments last year but not buying any as i was worried they wouldn't survive the flight home (i used to work at dublin airport & i've seen how the baggage handlers treat the baggage!!). Might chance it this year...

We brang home a few diffrent ones last time (1 ball with the year on it, and a set of nemo ones). The ball was in flmsy packaging so we put the right in our carry on. The nemo ones were in a nice study box with a plastic cover, we placed them in our checked bagage wrapped in clothing to survive the trip home, thankfully it worked!

Put them in the middle of your pile of dirty underwear or inside several big sweaters or something like that, and in the middle of the suit case.

BTW- There is also a Christmas store near the Muppet 3D Show and Toy Story Pizza in DHS. It may have Christmas stuff only in December though.

It's a tradition with my wife and I (well, a lot more my wife's) We always get one with the year, and the celebration that is going on at the time (Happiest Celebration on Earth, Year of A Million Dreams.....). We go all over looking for ornaments, and by far, the best place is The Christmas Store in DTD. Make sure to go there, and as far as bringing them home on the plane, you could always bring them on the flight (well wrapped in tissue paper) as a carry on, or just pack a lot of clothes around them in your suitcase. I'm sure it'll be fine, we never had a problem. Have fun

It is great to see so many other people have Disney Trees. I get a few new ornaments every year. I usually get them at DTD but as stated, they also have them at MouseGears(even in July) and in the Magic Kingdom. I always drive to Florida, but the CM always do a great job of wrapping up anything breakable.

That one has Christmas stuff year round. (Or at least it did when I was there last August) But, its really small. Much smaller than the one in Liberty Square.

I like Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in MK. That's where my avatar photo was taken. This past trip, my husband & I got a cute ornament personalized with the date - i loved it. The DTD store is fantastic too.

We let the kids pick out one ornament each every year. Then we have one personalized for the family with the year. We'll have the kids' ornaments personalized if there's space. We'll have a full Disney tree in no time.

Our favorite ornament spot is 365 Days of Christmas in DTD. We also like Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. DHS has the one between Mama Melrose and Pizza Planet, next to the snowman but it's only open near the holidays.

Double check the packaging after you buy them. 2007, by mail order, we received a destroyed ornament. Last year, aftr personalization, we check the ornaments that were delivered to the resort and found one broken. We brought it back the next day, hours before we were leaving, and they kindly rushed the personalization and packaged it much better. We hand-carried our ornaments after that and will continue to do so for the personalized and dated ones.

I also bring home ornaments each trip either tinkerbell or mickey. My fave is neither and not even that pretty but I LOVE IT! Its purple, and has all the lands in MK on it and when you pull the string it plays Its a Small World! Kids hate it tho! LOL!
I have lots of tinkerbell so this trip I think I will concentrate on Mickey..
