Coincidence maybe? Dreamfinder & Figment parody found in Tom & Jerry: The Movie

Something funny I noticed while watching Tom & Jerry: The Movie. Don't Captain Kiddie and Squawk remind u of Dreamfinder & Figment from the original Journey Into Imagination, the classic Epcot ride??? Lol! Also coincidentally MGM owns Tom & Jerry and I know Disney and MGM got into a fight about Disney's Hollywood Studios a long time ago. Could this have been MGM's revenge on Disney? Lol! Because these two actually become bad guys later in the film. They also sing a song called "I've Done it all" which the tune sounds very similar to the Performing Arts variation of One Little Spark from the original ride. Heck even the characters themselves sound extremely similar,

Good sir, the only thing funny about that movie is the fact that some studio head actually greenlighted it!
I agree the movie isn't very good! But I just thought if share what I found! A Dreamfinder & Figment parody in Tom & Jerry! Surprised Disney didn't sue MGM when the movie was released!

Eh...not sure. I'd always viewed the character more as a piratey version of Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Moose.

Besides, it's not like Disney would need to sue them to protect the integrity of Dreamfinder and Figment....MGM got bought out by Ted Turner, and Turner Feature Animation damaged themselves by putting out crap.

Disney had Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. TFA had Tom and Jerry, The Pagemaster, and....Cats Don't Dance.

l can see the resemblance between them too. However I'm pretty sure they were going with Dreamfinder & Figment. I mean the face shape and voice of Squawk is very similar. Same goes for Captain Kiddie, he's got a big brown mustache like Dreamfinder, he's wearing a blue suit like Dreamfinder, and the voice also sounds very similar. Either way, I found this funny and decided to share it with the rest of the Disney fans who might be interested.

Woah woah woah hold it right there mister, Cats Don't Dance is awesome.

It failed because it was a casualty of the Turner/Time Warner merger. It was released in cinemas but without any marketing and did not draw an audience due to minimal advertising and lack of promotional merchandise as there was no funds to do so and they were too busy sorting the out the merging of the companies to spend time and money on marketing.

Watch it, it's hilarious. It really bothers me something so great didn't get the recognition it deserves.
