CM previews for Disney Store CM's?

Ok this is a little convoluted, but I'll try to be brief.

I am about to become a Disney Store CM for the second time in my life. One of the reasons I decided that I wanted to work for DS part-time (besides my wife and I needing a little more cash on hand) is that we are going to WDW in late April with her HS choir, and I wanted to be able to take advantage of discounts, etc.

So, since Soarin' is slated to open in May, I hope there will be CM previews going on when I am there. My question is, would I have access to those previews as a Disney Store CM?

Thanks to anybody that might know.

The stores are in the process of being sold to The Children's Place. That is suppose to happen this Monday. So I doubt we will be getting any of the benefits we are getting now for Disney World. From what I here we are only going to be getting our discounts in the store and that is it.

Wow

I heard this was coming, but I had no idea it was this soon? It seems crazy that CM's would in essence no longer by CM's! I guess I will have to reconsider going to work there. Nobody told me that when I went to apply!

My Wife and I are former cms and were reapplying for this season, and found out the same thing. However, I've been told that no benefits will extend, and that we would become employees of TCP, and no longer would be affiliated with Disney in any way. The one hitch in the purchase was the sale of Disney Park Tickets within the stores. Essentially, they were trying to figure out a couple of things.

(1) How to sell the tickets for Disney, in stores now owned and operated by TCP.

(2) Whether or not to offer any type of discount on those tickets to the Store employees. I checked with my Store Mgr. last week and was told there was nothing new to report on the sale and/or this specific situation.

The worst part of all of this is that the mgmt. staff with the stores was told they are going to lose any pension plan that was available, as well as any benefits for the parks that they were receiving. She also told me that she would be attending the latest, and LAST, mgrs. meeting in Orlando (I believe it's going to be Orlando), where all the plans would be laid out in full for them.

It's really changed our position on working there, as I was looking to start a career with them, and had an initial interview for the Asst. Store Mgr. position a couple of weeks ago.

From what I understand from my management, they are considering keeping our benefits for up to a year...I'm not sure though. Everything changes so quickly and often w/out us knowing it. It's a shame though...

I'm hoping to get my seasonal status back at the parks...but we'll see.

In answer to your question, yes. Disney Store CMs have gotten in during CM previews in the past. Now if they will still be able to get in come April is still up in the air. As far as I know, no official announcement has been made regarding benefits in the theme parks so I am going to keep my fingers crossed and wish upon a star for the best...
