I have looked through a few pages and haven't found an answer to my question:
What do you dress your kids in to make them stand out?
I am taking my soon to be 4 year old DD between Christmas and New Years, she is very outgoing and isn't scared of much at all. I would love to have her in the cute little Disney shirts with all of the princesses, but a lot of little girls will have the same thing on. I'm new to traveling to Disney with children and have never been during the holiday time so I feel like I am overthinking this a little bit, but its better safe than sorry.

If she has long hair, could you put a neon or special hairbow or ponytail holder and she could still wear princess clothes?

My wife has a friend who does custom embroidery, and she gets her to make disney shirts, sometimes with her name on them. I've also seen lots of folks wearing matching neon t-shirts. Our daughter is also very outgoing (particularly at wdw!) and will run off in an instant. We've never had any issues keeping up with her, but I can understand your concern!

I would not let my kids wear ANYTHING with their name on it at an amusement park (or anywhere else, for that matter, but that's just me). No need to let strangers be able to approach them as though they KNOW them.

We were worried about this as well, but she always had a button (birthday, first time, etc.) with her name on it anyway. Frankly, I'm so paranoid about losing her that she never leaves my sight anyway, so it hasn't been an issue so far.

We wear the same general color scheme every day in the Parks, so I can glance at my own shirt to remind myself what color I'm looking for if the kids wander off.

I also have the kids wear Safety Tats on their forearms, and instruct them that if they get lost, they should approach the nearest uniformed cast member (we showed them how to identify CMs by their name tags) and ask them to call our cell phone number, which is written on the safety tat. We told them not to go anywhere with anyone -- just to have them call the number. So far, we've never had a problem with them getting lost, but it's good to know that if they did lose sight of us at Disney World, they know what to do.

I really think I'm just totally paranoid. Maybe it's where I'm from (New York) - maybe it's how I was raised (by paranoid parents from Brooklyn). I was NEVER allowed anything with my name on it (all my friends had name barrettes with ribbons growing up and I DID NOT - but I digress) and now I do the same with my kids.

Nothing wrong with that! The way things are these days you never know, unfortunately. Our little one is typically either in her stroller or in my arms while at wdw and I'm always a bit "on edge" when it comes to her in public places. Between me, my wife, and our DD14 (who thinks she's the other mom), that kid doesn't have much chance of escaping!

I am too -- my father was in law enforcement, so we were raised to believe that there was a child molester lurking around every corner.

On the other hand, we were never kidnapped, and neither have my children been. You can't argue with success!

Ditto. I never let them have any clothing ever with their name on it, nor their bikes or outside of the bookbag.

We like to dress the kids in the same color for each day. Doesn't have to be the same exact outfit but same color so they stand out to us. Bright red is always a good one, too.

I'm so with you all on this! I don't even like those little stickers everybody puts on the back windows of their vehicles. I'm not going to advertise how many kids I have or their names!

My dad once told me not to put ANYTHING on my car to make it known I am a female. Or a Jets fan but that's just because he thinks Giants fans are crazy (HIM - NOT ME!!)
