Clothes to Pack in Early October

Hi folks,

This year, we're making our first ever trip to Disney World that's not during the summer months. We're going the first week of October. Where we live, early October definitely equates to solid Fall weather, meaning that it's going to feel nothing like summer. Cooler, windy, etc.

My understanding, though, is that early October at Disney World can feel much like summer, with highs possibly still hitting 90. Can anyone give me a better idea what to expect? What do you suggest in terms of packing clothes for a trip at that time of year?

Thanks,
Tom

During a one week trip in October 2009 we froze our you-know-whats off on the first day in shorts and t-shirts, but by the last day we were melting from the heat and humidity. Plan for anything with layers!

Pack light layers. We went during the same weekend two years in a row (2012 and 2013). The first year the highs were in the 50s. The second year the highs were in the 90s. Just be ready for anything!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Be ready for ANYTHING!! Cannot stress that enough! You could have hot, warm, cool, cold, or rainy or all of it in one trip! You never know. Even if you look at the weather before going do not base it just on that! The weather forecast can change in an instant. Has happened to us many times even though we looked at the forcast for our trip. We are from south Louisiana and our weather is almost identical to Florida so we are used to preparing for the unpredictable especially Oct-March. We can be on shorts one day and then the next needing a heavy coat! Crazy Florida and Louisiana fall and winter weather! :)

Check the weather before you leave. On my last trip, it was 90 during the day and 70 at night. We had sunshine every day with no rain. It was all summer clothes for us!
