I find it strange that the King Arthur's Carousel and Snow White will be closed down and have an announced closure at that. I can't imagine why they'd be closed, or heck even Hungry Bear. Big Thunder Mountain has been closed for the better part of the year and won't reopen soon. I might hold some faith that the others will be open, unless you got this info from Disneyland's site.

Hungry Bear closed...really? Heh.

It's disappointing, but honestly, if you're not visiting during a peak season it's how it goes. You're fortunate that the list is so minor - Mickey's House is certainly nothing to write home about, and Big Thunder is undergoing a complete rebuild that has been going for several months already (Space Mountain had an even longer closure leading up to the park's 50th in 2005 - roller coasters need love). Snow White is a nice little ride, but it's quite short and not as good as the one WDW unceremoniously closed last May, and it's in no danger of leaving DLR ever. Pinocchio, Mr. Toad and Alice are just as good (if not better).

Attractions need maintenance to run at optimal (and safe) condition, and unlike WDW, DLR is not shy about taking care of its attractions. It sucks if your visit lands while something is down, but that's the trade-off for visiting during a non-peak time. If you don't want refurbs, come during summer or Christmas (though Big Thunder would have still been down, it won't reopen till 2/15/14).

There's still plenty of wonderful amazingness awaiting you during your trip, I promise! ;)

King Arthur's Carousel? Have you seen the tarp? It's filthy and rusting. It needs work.

What @GiveMeTheMusic said. It sucks, but things need to be maintained. The list isn't long at all. You're not missing anything with the closure of Golden Zephyr or the Carousel. There will be other E tickets to experience, so don't feel bad about Thunder being closed. You'll have eight other dark rides to choose from, since Snow White is closed. Minnie's house will be open, as well as Mickey's other friends and Hungry Bear is one of many good places to eat.

I was super disappointed that BTMRR was closed when I went in June, but I was happy with the Matterhorn and Space Mt, especially since I had been in DL in 2012 when the Matterhorn was closed. I would be disappointed in the carousel being closed since it is a family tradition to get our picture taken on the carousel at a Disney park every trip. But things do need maintance, it just blows when it happens during your trip.

I knew of a couple of these :(. But where exactly do you find a complete list. It's alot harder to find out with dl than wdw.

It's kind of silly, but the Golden Zephyr is one of my favorites. I just love the sensation of being out over the water.

Although it won't be quite as magical, you guys could technically continue your tradition....there is a Little Mermaid carousel underneath California Screamin' in DCA. Not quite as special as in front of the castle, but could get you through on a technicality!

Haha, Little Mermaid Carousel...

It's not silly. I like the swinging as well, though I much prefer Silly Symphony Swings.
