Boy do I miss the cartoons of my childhood! After watching the cartoon channels on the DCL and at WDW resort this past year I came to the realization that some of this stuff just wouldn't make it on the Disney Channel these days without some fuss. I mean you just can't show Donald Duck fake shooting himself and covering himself in ketchup as fake blood on TV now days. But is it funny? Yes! Those cartoons were much more entertaining than the stuff on Disney now. My son (4) would sit for hours on the DCL and be absolutely mesmerized by these cartoons especially the mischievous Chip and Dale characters. Much to my surpriseon our next trip to WDW I found this channel again! And then I look over and see my friend's fiance (30) sitting and watching with him in our AKL villa...completely consumed by the cartoons of his youth. Anyone else really enjoy these old cartoons while on vacation? I found it to be one of my favorite resort perks on my last few trips! I wish I could buy these on DVD...oh the house chores I could accomplish ;)

YES! I completely feel you on this one. I LOVE and miss those classic Disney cartoon shorts so much! I really, really wish those stories and old school characters (Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecaller, Pete, etc) were better represented in the parks. With the exception of Mickey's ToonTown in Disneyland (and even there it's pretty limited), there isn't much of a nod to all those classic, beloved shorts. Though I know it would never happen, I would love to see an expansion at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios with a land/area dedicated to the classic cartoons. Essentially, like an improved, larger ToonTown.

My 2 year old started watching the old cartoons in the lobby of SSR when we were there, and LOVED them. We now have to find them on YouTube for him to watch sometimes!

I have a few apps you can find them on...the Mickey video app and there is also a Disneyland app that takes you on a tour of DL. In toon town you can watch some old cartoon clips. My son loves these!
