Classic Characters in WDW's Magic Kingdom

Has anyone seen any of the classic characters in the Magic Kingdom's ToonTown Fair? Characters like Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck and Horace Horsecollar. I don't think that they ever make an apparence, but I was just wondering.

I've seen Clara Cluck in a farmhouse in the Easter Parade. I suppose they're not around because no one knows who they are!!! :( Actually, House of Mouse has them as main characters, but their personalities sure have been altered.

Classic Characters

I didn't think I had ever seen them at the park. I know there used to be a banner at the Toontown Hall Of Fame which had all the names of all the characters on it, and I remember Clara Cluck and Horace Horsecollar were on it. Thanks.

p.s I think it would be kinda cool to see some of the older characters roaming around ToonTown Fair.

Probably because the new generation of "Disney Lovers" prefer the newer characters... it's the same way that kids don't really know anything about "Song of the South" but they know about Splash Mountain. They don't know where that came from... It's kinda sad to think about. :(

No, I mean, why were no more cartoons made with these characters?

Well House of Mouse has Clara Bell Cow...but mainly because no one really knows of them otherwise because they weren't used in the current day. The cartoons wouldn't go over too well.

I read, or heard, somewhere that these characters went into disuse because they just weren't as interesting as Donald, Pluto and the Goof. I think Leonard Maltin talked about the subject in the Walt Disney Treasures DVD, Mickey Mouse in Living Color. I'm pretty sure that's the reason, but I'm not sure where I heard it.

they all do special events, and up until 1998 (not sure about 99), Clara Cluck was out every year for the Easter Parade

umm... err.. I do believe that was false, and much rather a coincidence (or in Robspeak, a Coinky-), confusing the other eggs in the parade with Mr. Eggz.

And no, I have no pictures... I lost all my pre 2000 pictures when my house flooded in 2000

A good way to incorporate Clarabelle is to open a yogurt stand like @ Disneyland. Plus it would be another place to eat in ToonTown. See Picture.

It would be a good idea to expand toon town period...they need to do something to it. I can only go through Mickey's house so many times. I already memorized his shopping list (American Cheese, Swiss Chesse, Gouda Chesse, and so on.)

DisneyInsider I couldn't agree with you more. The only reason I even go to ToonTown anymore is to hop the train to Main Street. They do need to add something. I'd like to see some of the Disney Afternoon characters, Gadget, Darkwing Duck, Monterey Jack, etc.

I read on another message board that there was talk of getting rid of toontown and replacing it with something new....is this just internet rumor? or is it based in some reality?
