Classes; enrolled but not starting til after interview?

So how does this work exactly. I want to apply for the DCP spring 2016, I'm accepted but my classes don't begin until end of September/early October(quarter system).

Does someone have to be both accepted AND enrolled at the time of the interview, or is it just by the time a we find out if we are accepted into the DCP and decide on the offer, be actively taking classes?

I'm in the same situation, and I had no issues applying before the start of my classes. They don't really verify (or care) if classes are actually in session.
