Cirque du Soleil's first permanent theater outside the US is being constructed at the Tokyo Disneyland resort, as reported at this link (see April 14, 2005 entry). According to a press release issued by Oriental Land Company, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new theater was held today.
The Tokyo theater will be the second Cirque du Soleil theater located on Disney property. The first, at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney West Side, is home to "La Nouba," an amazing display of acrobatics and athleticism.
