Greetings all from the Geek Labs

A gallery featuring photography of two La Nouba performers is on display at the Cirque du Soleil theater at Downtown Disney West Side through Aug. 14.

The "Eye behind the Artist" exhibit, part of La Nouba's five-year anniversary, features the works of photography enthusiasts Yuri Maiorov )"Flying Man" in the show's Aerial Ballet in Silk act) and Jean-Francois Bedard (musician playing bass, double bass and cello in the show's band).

"Looking through this little window to see the image is my favorite part of photography," said Maiorov, who takes still-life pictures. "What I see through my camera… I'm fully satisfied."

Bedard's interests are landscapes and portraits, and his photography on display depicts several scenes of the La Nouba performers rehearsing or preparing to go on stage.

"The PR department helped me out," Bedard said of his backstage shoots. "I said I wanted to shoot the performers behind the scenes, so they helped set up the shoot.

"I knew what I was looking for, seeing [the performers] in natural settings, not as normal people and not as characters. Right in between. It's interesting because they act in an interesting way when they have their makeup on at work."
