Cinderella Castle Chimes?

I was just watching the WDW Opening Special and just thinking everything seemed so different at it the time of its grand opening. Everything just looks so amazing and especially how it was just that one little area that was developed and how all the plants were just starting to grow. Well anyways, towards the end of the special when the HUGE marching band gets into the hub and comes to a rest, the camera pans toward the castle and then you hear it "dong" a few times and then it starts to play some music. My question is, was this really coming from the castle or was it just something done to make it seem like it? And if it was the castle, why is it no longer done, it seems like a pretty neat thing to have.

My guess that it was a sound effect, played from the forecourt audio system. Acutally, the recent forecourt shows tend to start with the Castle chimes. Cinderella's Surprise Celebration started with the opening notes to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." I agree though, that it would be cool to have the castle chime more often.

Though there's no bells in the castle, there *are* real bells in Fantasyland above Pinocchio's Village Haus. I've heard them chime before, though I'm not sure how often. It might only be on the hour, and who knows whether it's always working... There's quite a number of bells up there in the tower.
Also, even if they do go off, it might be difficult to hear them over the carousel nearby.
