Christmas store Mickey ornaments?

A friend just found out we're going to WDW in 2 1/2 weeks, and she asked me to do her a favor. You see, she has a few of the Mickey head Xmas ornaments she bought a year ago. She has never been able to get back and she didn't know they could be personalized. So I ask you...

Do you know if you can bring in past ornaments previously bought there and have them personalized?

If so, do they charge (how much?)?

If this is NOT allowed, how much are the ornaments if I had to buy her new ones?

Well, im not sure about the personalising old objects. But seeing as its Disney, i'd think it'd be pretty expensive. My mom likes that shop and goes in there often, from what i can remember it costs quite alot (don't know exact price) for a little christmas ball thing which you hang on the tree. You should try google.com to get some information about that shop.

Hope this helps;

We had one of the larger glass Mickey head ornaments personalized in 2001. It was around $40. This included our names on the ears, and the words Disney and Daytona 2001 along with 2 crossed checker flags painted on the face. I accidently dropped the ball and broke it while cleaning this fall. I called Mail Order and tried to get a new one, but the CM and I couldn't figure out the dimensions. She did tell me that I could have one mailed to me, but they couldn't do personalizing through the mail order service. She said that she could send me one, and I COULD have it personalized when visiting WDW in June. I purchased another ball just like it in November at the World of Disney Store in New York. The ball was $12, so figure around $25-30 to have it painted. We plan to take ours with us to have it painted next month. Hope this helps.

Okay, so if I am to understand correctly, it is possible to bring in ornaments that were previously purchased on an earlier trip, they just charge to personalize.

Hm, I wonder how much they charge just to do a simple name on each, and how much they are as a base cost (I may pick a couple up if they're low enough)

Thanks!

I don't mean for this to sound negative, but there really is nothing special about the WDW personalization. They do an OK job, but its nothing out of the ordinary.

Your friend could do the same thing at home with some paint pens from a local craft store. That's all they do at WDW. Even the printing there depends on the talent of the person painting the names. At home, she could paint as much as she wanted without extra charges.

At WDW they charge for the name, then extra for any character or extra saying (like "Happy Birthday" or something). It can add up fast.

That would also eliminate the chance of breaking the ornaments by taking them all the way to WDW and back home again.

Maybe for a nice gift, you could take the ornaments from her, instead, and do the names anbd decorating on them for her? That would be a cool gift!

Just a thought....

Unfortunately I have the talent of a kindergartender in that realm.

She happened to see Travel Channel's special on Disney at Xmas, and saw a shot of the personalized ornament and fell in love (it was pretty neat.), just had a name written in cursive in gold. Simple, elegant, and gorgeous. I'll have to find a photo of it.
