Christmas Parade

My question is this- are they actually doing a parade or just filming their spectacular? Last year was a mess that we turned off half way through (not the traditional parade we were used to seeing).

heard mixed things about the filming day... i would prefer to avoid it if possible lol we don't get to see it on TV in the UK lol

It's fun to be there if you can watch it later, but if you can't, it's no fun!

yeah only available on youtube... although i have hear wait times can be shorter on filming days as loads of people are on MS USA.

I can say the couple times I was there during filming, it was true
We watched for about 5-10 minutes, then went to a couple attractions...

I've been at the MK a few times while they were filming, during parade portions and during stage performances. We weren't there to watch the taping so we didn't linger, and cast members kept moving people along if they weren't supposed to be part of the crowd. It really hasn't interupted my touring plan or made it difficult for me to get around. It is just kind of strange to see the camera equipment around and to hear a director over the loudspeakers instead of background music.
Last year we were on the bridge by Liberty Square headed towards Adventureland and we heard the filmers calling out to the crowd to come to the hub and join the taping. They were saying they needed more crowd people and encouraging people by saying there was a good chance they would be on camera on Christmas Day. We thought about it but decided to stick with our Jungle Cruise fast pass. We found out later a performer had been late or something and a lot of the crowd that had assembled had moved on to other things.

The last day of rehearsals are going to be November 4th so I expect the filming to be shortly after that.

I hope it is early November because they don't put the tree at the MK up until after they film the parade.

Last year (2015) I was there the weekend that they were filming and the tree was up in Town Square. I was pretty pumped because it was the first time I had been there when the tree was up. The other times I'd been there they had left it down until filming was done and I hadn't been able to see it. I don't know if they will go back to the old policy or just put it up this year though.
