Christmas Parade Taping Date?

Have been looking around but have not found anything yet. There is a good idea of when it will probably be because of previous year's parades. We are planning going back in December(just got back yesterday). We want to see all the decorations but don't want to deal with the crowds that weekend will bring or any inconveniences the recordings will cause. Do we know yet?

I have heard Dec 6, 7 and 8th. It is usually the first week end in Dec and is taped over a few days. The only thing it does is make it crowded on Main Street and the hub but once you get farther in the rides and such are usually not crowded at all. They also don't put up the Christmas tree at the front of the park till after the taping. Hope that helps you.

Thanks for the info. Dreamfinder, if that's when they are looking for dancers, then that's when it's probably going to be. Thanks.

At wdw it's usually the first week of dec. we have been there many times for certain tapings. But we never tried to do the parade taping. Too much time spent just standing there I think.

We've gone while the parade special was being taped. It didn't cause us much problems. It was really strange entering the MK early in the morning with all the tv cameras set up near the train station, and they were practicing a routine on the castle stage so instead of the background music we heard the director's voice over the speakers. That was the first weekend in December.

So it's not a big inconvenience or the crowds are much bigger for it?

It wasn't a big inconvenience for us. Although when we went to leave we didn't want to encounter crowds on Main Street so we took the train around to the front, that was in the early afternoon. It didn't really look much different than the running of a regular parade for trying to get down Main Street though. When we returned to the MK in the evening it was normal. Oh keep in mind that if you are there when they are filming the parade you won't see the big MK Christmas tree, they don't put that up until after the parade is filmed.
