Never been at Christmas—does Universal replace its area music with Christmas music this time of year like Disney does?

Yes, in certain places. It's most evident in Citywalk & USF. There are a few sections of the parks that tend to retain their usual soundtracks though.

Previously IOA's Port of Entry used to use a Manheim Steamroller Christmas loop, but this year it's just modern pop versions of Christmas songs. I felt the Manheim Steamroller one was a little more appropriate.

Absolutely. My best memories of entering Universal Studios during the holidays are approaching the globe and the main gate and hearing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" playing. Although, when we were down there last year I don't think we heard it play at all. Wonder if there's a rights or licensing issue ?
