Christmas in November

Although we were not planning on taking a Disney vacation this year, I was able to talk my wonderful boyfriend into changing our fall vacation from an island to Disney :D So now we are going to the world November 10th-16th. We loved the F&W festival last year and thankfully we will be there for one day of the festival this trip, as well as going to our first MVMCP!!!! This will be my first time seeing the world decorated for Christmas, I went once in January, but they had already started taking the decorations down by that point. Okay, so I have a few questions. Since the MVMCP will have started, I'm assuming that means that with the exception of the large tree, the MK will be fully decorated? Also, will the other parks and resorts be decorated at this point? I checked, the Osbourn lights starting date isn't announced yet, but previous years they have started the week we are going. We have decided to stay at the Boardwalk Inn, which is a first to me, and we're getting a water view room, any suggestions on which area (I've never seen the inside of this resort so I have no idea what to expect). We were there last year from the end of October to early November and the weather was great, we wore shorts and a sweatshirt, but my mid afternoon the sweatshirts were long gone. Is that typical for that time of year in Florida or should we expect much colder weather? For you golfers out there, is there a course that you prefer, I told him he could have a day to himself and golf while I stroll the parks snapping a million pictures of the decorations :) I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions as the time passes.

Typically, all of the decorations park wide will be done by the first MVMCP.

Weather is anyone's guess. It could be hot to freezing and could easily switch between the two during your trip. Check the weather the day before you leave and pack accordingly.

We've been a couple of times during mid-late November and the Christmas decorations have always been up in the parks. I think most of the resorts begin decorating in early-mid November as well. The weather can be all over the place, but is usually pretty mild. There were times when we needed jackets in the mornings/evenings, and other days when we were able to swim.

I've been to that week the last 3 years, and I'll be there again this year. As you said, the MK is all decked out as well as DHS. Epcot is not however. But the resorts r in transition phase. One day will be bare, next day, full of decorations. Either way, great time to be there.

We'll be there that same week as well! It'll be our first trip to Disney at Christmas time as well and we are looking forward to seeing all the decorations.

Are you planning/have you already made your ADR's yet? Since i decided to make these plans after the 180 day window I wasn't expecting there to be many choices left, but everything I want is available, I guess because free dining wasn't offered yet or its a "slower" time to go that they aren't booked yet. Which resort are you staying at?

Yes we made them at 180 days out. The only reservations that we couldn't get were to BOG but that is probably because the small group of just my wife and kids is a reservation for 6 and the larger group of all our family going is 13. We'll be at Port Orleans French Quarter. It'll be our first stay at a moderate.

I couldn't get BOG either, but I figured we can eat there for lunch one day instead so I'm not too upset about that. POFQ is my FAVORITE moderate resort. I love taking a walk by the river at night, listening to the horse and buggies trotting along the cobblestone streets, and taking the boat to DTD is a beautiful ride! I also love how all of the rooms are close to everything, its not a very spread out resort like many of the others so going to refill you mug after a long day in the parks is not so bad. The rooms were just redone not too long ago too so they look amazing!

Great to hear! Lunch at BOG was great although portion sizes seemed small.
