I know the Halloween celebration ends soon. I will be visiting Nov 1st thru the 8th, does anyone know if the Christmas decorations will at least be up? I know the celebration doesn't start for a few days after I leave.

I'm fairly sure the Castle in MK will be draped with the netting and lights for Christmas but will not be used until after Thanksgiving. The Osborne lights and DHS will be in place but not unsed during your visit. Decorations really are in place after Thanksgiving.:xmas:

If they are up in MK it'll be at the end of your vacation but I'm pretty sure there will be some decorations up at the other parks. I know last year the entrances of the parks had decorations up cause I have pictures of them from my dad's trip down from october 31st till November 6th.

The Osborne Lights are later this year - 11/28 until 1/4 or so. Not sure about the decorations. We have visited in November before - around the 11th or so - and I believe some decorations were in place.

I know for a fact that the decorations were up last year as early as Nov 11 because I have pictures from my trip starting Nov. 11-16, 2007 and have pictures of the Spectacle of Dancing lights at DHS (I even got to flip the switch to turn the lights off about an hour after the park closed).

So I know EPCOT, AK, MK, and DHS all had Christmas decorations up. Now that's not to say this year will be the same... it could be a completely different story this year. And since the website doesn't have it starting until Nov. 28, it might not start until then

But to answer your question, with MVMCP starting Nov. 10 I can almost bet the decorations in MK will no doubt be up before then

I was there last year Nov 11-17 and the 11th was the first night they lit the castle lights... I'm sure the castle will be lit thru the month of november, but maybe not the first week. We'll be there the 9-15, so Im looking forward to seeing them again!

Just curious-

How do guests end up going to WDW in early November?
It's too late for the Halloween festivities and too early for Christmas.
I would visit either in October or December.
We went one year during Thanksgiving to see what it was like.
Turned out that there really wasn't anything special going on like Halloween and Christmas.

Tks.
:)

Bunny, we've decided we like going the week before Thanksgiving just because of the smaller crowds(at least that's the way it was last year.) We're not going for anything special-just to be in WDW a little lonlier and a little cooler. We don't have children(another story), so it works out perfect. JOHO.

Some people don't celebrate Christmas or Halloween and just want to go to Disney when it's convenient and/or there are no crowds.

The first week of November is "Jersey Week"...all NJ public schools are closed on Thu and Fri, 11/6-7 for The NJEA Teachers Convention and some towns close their schools for the entire week, thus the rash of us NJ-ites travelling in early November.

We were in WDW 3 years ago same week, and I seem to recall the Christmas lights being on in areas of DHS, and also in parts of MK...maybe they were testing them?

We go the 2nd week every year in november, and there is always christmas decorations up, trees in the parks and resorts are up, xmas music is being played everywhere, its really no different at all. We don't go for MVMCP...we go for the lighter crowds and the much nicer weather, and love it! :)

We go exactly the same time every year as well, and I couldn't agree more with what you said. Less crowds and Christmas decorations... we love it :D

We picked the first week in November because of "Jersey Week". My kids will only miss 2 days of school going during that week. We got to see Disney at Halloween last year so we're good. Besides... it's Disney there everyday!:animwink:
