Christmas Decorations

Hey! I'm sure this information is somewhere on here already, but does anyone know when the Christmas decorations come down in MK? We're going from Jan 5-10 (instead of our usual September/October) and we'd love to be able to see the Christmas decor!!

Haven't posted on here in a while because I've been so busy becoming a "grown up" at college. Happy to be going back to the most Magical Place on Earth soon :)

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Unfortunately usually all decorations are gone by your first day 1/5. You may luck out and see something lingering but most likely they will all be taken down by 1/5 or 1/6. :(

That's not true. We went to WDW 1/5-1/13 of this year and the Christmas decorations were up until I believe 1/8. Some years the Dream Lights run until mid-January.

Yes it is possible I mentioned they might be in luck....but I have family that usually attends that time of year and they are USUALLY not up at the posters travel dates as of the past few years. They try to take stuff down now a lot more quickly the past several years than in years past. I just wanted the poster to be prepared that there is a chance they will not see much. I hope they will but they may not. :)

I'm thinking from what I remember last year they start changing over right after Marathon Weekend on a Monday. Decorations will be up, but things like Osborne Lights will be done earlier of course.

That was not my experience in 2011, 2012, or 2014. Each of those years, I have come in early January (around the poster's dates) and seen the decorations up on Main Street. I have pictures...

I would say anyone going into the MK on the Monday after New Years has a VERY good chance of seeing decorations, as they have been up on the Monday after New Years since at least 2011. Hell, the Osborne Lights don't even end until 1/4/15.

I was not saying you were wrong at all and I knew Osborne went until 1/4. Like I said just speaking from what my family members said about MK the past few years around that time. :)

Ya they'll be down and unfortunately you'll have the crane behind the castle the whole time for them to take down the lights on the castle. We arrived January 12ty and it was up everyday. I have no clue, I guess just luck, the only time I saw it not behind the castle was the evening we got married at the wedding pavilion and reception at GF. Really made for nice pictures without the crane.
