Christmas decorations for new fantasyland?

Now I think it would be a brilliant idea if new fantasyland got a flavor for Christmas.
For example in the Be our guest restaurant how cool would it be that once you entered everything was all decorated just in time for Christmas! It wouldn't be that hard to do heck they could even put in a big tree in there. and how bout for the holidays enchanted tales with belle you all play out some sort of Christmas story and belle plays along as well.(They could even reference the sequel if they wanted too) They could put in new props for the kids, and have Maurice's cottage decorated for Christmas as well, this would be a cool mix up and really require no downtime. I think it would be a cool idea and make the place seem all the more interactive/real as guests would see that these places are also experiencing the holiday season.

They stated last year that there would be Christmas decorations in the FLE starting this year. We will see if that happens or is never mentioned again.

It's getting close to that time. I know last year there were no decorations to speak of. The theory was that since this was a brand new area, TDO wanted to keep it in its original form for first time visitors. But this year? Anyone have insight as too how involved the Christmas theming will be?

That sure seems to be the million dollar question. Token or elaborate? I could also see them waiting until FLE has a real Grand Opening, when construction is complete. Now if Dwarf finishes in time for Christmas decor 2014 oR Remains to be seen if Disney waits out maybe 2015 for a full Christmas spread???

Boy, I would hope that the Mine Train opens way sooner than the Christmas season 2014....I'm guessing first quarter of 2014??

I was thinking June, but boy it still looks like they have so much to do.

They have already announced Spring 2014. I'm guessing around the same time as Festival of Fantasy Parade?

Aware, Spring ends what June 20th? I'm also aware of how many dates/years Avatar has been given let alone the hiccups in the entire FLE, Hyperion, so I am guarded and jaded with Disney Timelines.

Here you go: (it talks about New Fantasyland near the end)

So we know nothing about how much or little they will be doing in 2013 to FLE? Funny the backdrop of their pitch for FLE is Dwarf that won't be completed in 2013. Interesting.

I highly, HIGHLY doubt it will still be in construction by june, they still have some way to go, but june is not the end date. I could see this thing being done by January. They now started work on the front and paving/rockwork that goes on that side.

Giggle. I can't debate 'the date' Dwarf will open with that type of certainty, I'm not that clairvoyant. Reality, its all wagg'n our things around, it is just conjecture. Even if I too capitalized words that doesn't make me correct.

Here was Disney's timeline from a year ago, 2012.

Princess Fairtale Hall was to open Early 2013, yet it didn't open until the second half of September 2013. It is stuff like this that makes me jaded about Disney Timelines.

  • Complete - Hundred Acre Wood facade for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Complete - Half of Storybook Circus with double Dumbo, Great Goofini coaster, Fantasyland Train Station
  • Closed - June 1, 2012 - Snow White’s Scary Adventures closes permanently to make way for Princess Fairytale Hall (last day of operation will be May 31)
  • Complete - Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Play Area, second half of Dumbo
  • December 6, 2012 - Official Grand Opening (Previews begin November 19) - Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, Be Our Guest restaurant, Beauty and the Beast village, Belle meet-and-greet, Castle wall
  • Early 2013 - Princess Fairytale Hall, Remaining pieces of Storybook Circus with Pete’s Silly Sideshow
  • Late 2013 - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster

So what is your point for emphasizing? Disney is known for changing their dates all the time. Princess Fairytale Hall was to open according to Disney in Early 2013 and opened in September. So emphasizing your prediction does what? Disney Timelines are always whacked.

My prediction is June, your's is January, which is months ahead of Spring. If I were a betting lady I'm betting this isn't opening in January as you are emphasizing, but hey dreams can come true.

I give it january-march. Emphasizing does nothing but EMPHASIZE when I believe it will open. All I am saying at the current pace and what is left, I really don't believe we are in for another 8 months.

lol. In a little over an hour from a emphasize on January, now you wiggled to January-March a 3 month cushion, what will tomorrow bring? Fall?

Seriously, I am not basing my guesstimate on the Spackle on the side of the mountain. More the mechanical operation of the the coaster and the interior work still be done inside the mountain. Disney has spoken of the elaborate details that will be happening in the rooms within the mountain, murals and animatronics. When Under the Seas Rock Work was about complete Imagineers work started in earnest on the interior.

But now that you are changing your timeline from January to a timeline with a 3 month wiggle room, possibly, but I doubt it will be completed in Winter as you are predicting. Spring possibly, but if they took till Fall to put the Meet n Greet when their timeline was Early 2013, I doubt Dwarf will be completed a full season ahead of their latest timeline. If this was Universal, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. Uni has huge work crews in comparison to Disney. Disney took two years from demolition to completion of the Tangled Potties.
They can't complete a restroom in a timely manner. The entire FLE has been one delay after the other, I doubt Dwarf will be the exception.

Woah got an essay there, lol this is over a date of a coaster. There is only one show scene for them to work on if I am not mistaken, I think January through march is a great window but hey if im right ill just make sure to come back and rub it in (playfully) and if you are by all means do the same! however if it opens after june since you gave no window we both lose!
