Christmas Day Parade Taping

I know the parade taping that runs on Christmas Day on ABC is the first weekend in December, Friday and Saturday. But Friday is November 30 and Saturday Dec 1. Is this still the likely date for taping?

According to touringplans.com the taping will be on Nov 30, Dec 1 and Dec 2. I think that is just their speculation based on prior years data.

Good...we will be at EPCOT on the 30th and then home that evening Last year the parade was right in our travel dates and it was an epic pain lol

Just saw on Touringplans crowd level chart that they note the parade taping on Sunday 12/2..that has never happened but is this true?

They reserve Sunday as a catch-all make up day for elements that need to be re-recorded (in case of major rain, tech difficulties etc). Likely wont be an issue for you. My advice is to avoid MK like there's a pox those taping days, crowds and crowd flow is terrible.

Thanks, figured Sunday was for a rain delay, but wanted to be sure. Actually, my husband enjoys going to the parade and standing on Main Street and then looking for us in the sea of crowds on Christmas morning, so I'm not able to avoid it!

I know why its done, but its funny to watch the parade on Christmas Morning knowing it was taped three weeks earlier.

Do they always change the time of the parade for taping? I noticed that for the 1st and 2nd the parade is at 5 instead of 3. Kind of throws off my schedule for the 2nd.

Yes they do. It is all done for purposes of the recording, so if it takes many takes, then so be it.
