Christmas Crowds

Hi everyone, I am going to WDW for christmas and new year(12/13-3/01). I have just read in a trip report(not on wdwmagic), that the wait times for toilets etc. are 1 hour. I recently went on spring break 2004, which I understand is a big holiday in the US, and I found this time not very crowded compared to what I expected. Can someone please let me know of their experiences at christmas with crowds, as I don't want to think that this holiday we be spoilt by crowds.

Christmas is THE busiest period at WDW so waiting time will be increased.
We've been at Easter before (the second busiest period) and I can remember having to stand in line for everything except the toilet

Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. This has been very reassuring. I thought that the claim of an hour was somewhat exaggerated.

p.s. I am going for three weeks. I thought i'd try the US date format.

Hi maksol,

I've been in WDW several times during the past for the week you'll be there, specifically to record wait times. The longest waits we've ever recorded for restrooms are 20 minutes for women, at the Tomorrowland facilities opposite the Indy Speedway.

A lot of this year's crowds will depend on energy prices in the US, as I suspect some folks who've not yet plunked down their deposits may decide to stay home if the price of gasoline stays above $3.

But if crowds are like the past couple of years, expect waits of 90 to 120 minutes on the headliner attractions.

Hope this helps.

Best time of the year to go. You may want to attend the Candle Light Procession on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day Magic Kingdom is packed, so if you plan to go there, go as early as possible! Make sure you make you lunch, or dinner reservations well in advance for Christmas day. We, my daughter, son & hubby spent one New Years in Epcot (all day from 10 am til midnight) Really packed...no problems with bathrooms - little hard to get around, but we met some great people and the fireworks were outstanding!!!!!!!! Go, enjoy and make some wonderful memories! There is nothing liKe the World at Christmas.
