From personal experience - babys 2nd Christmas is usually the first one where they'll interact properly. I think that you'll enjoy DLP but babys just going along for the ride

Just be aware that it gets very cold there in December. We went when my youngest daughter was 4 and it was way below 0 degrees C. We go skiing every year, so we are quite used to cold weather, but this was colder than anything we had experienced. If I had known how cold it was going to be, I would have packed skiwear for us all.

Apart from that, it is great there at Christmastime. The decorations are great and there is a really fun atmosphere. Can't remember about fireworks, but in my experience, neither of my daughters liked fireworks until they were about 4. Until then, they hated the loud bangs.

If you can go at the beginning of Dec, say the first week, it will by much quieter than if you go later on. We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel, and the characters were great - even if you don't stay there, you can meet the characters around the tree in the main lobby - when we were there, they arrived every morning, I think around 10am, and danced with the kids, and then posed for photos.

If you are interested, I will dig out some photos and post them - just let me know.

We've stayed several times at Sequioa Lodge during the winter. The log fire in the lobby bar area is lovely at night, and there are the Pooh , Tigger etc characters in the lobby each a.m. There are no fireworks, but the Xmas Parade and Spectromagic are well worth seeing, as is Main Street dressed for Xmas, and the huge Xmas tree next to the castle which gets lit up each evening. Because everything is close together it's easy to walk around the hotels to look at the decorations. We find it no colder than home at that time of year, it's usually been colder when we've been in Feb/March. Disneyland Park is great, some of the rides are better than WDW as they are the 'newer, improved' versions, and the Studios Park is getting better each year. Baby may be young, but YOU will make memories (and you can always go back next year!!):xmas:
