Have been to disney many times but never Christmas week. Has anyone ever done the In Room Celebration where when you arrive your room is decorated for a Mickey Christmas? Also, has anyone ever mailed their Christmas presents to their disney resort prior to their arrival? thanks!

I have never used the service that you have mentioned, but I can offer an alternative, if you will allow. I do not stay at the resorts often in comparison to the time that I spend at WDW, but I have stayed at a resort three or four times during the Christmas Holiday Season over the years. We have always taken our own decorations and done the room ourselves. This has included lights for the window and the inside of the room, clings or ornaments for the window, a wreath and garlands for the walls, and a small artificial tree. We have at times heard people outside of our room commenting on the visible decorations. I personally feel that it adds a bit more when you decorate yourself with a more "personal" touch. These items take up a comparatively small amount of space within a suitcase. Anyhoo, it's just a thought for consideration.

Regarding the gifts, we have gone as close as the day before Christmas and a few days after, but we're always home for the Holiday and the accompanying gifts in order to adhere to family traditions.

We went 3 years ago and are heading out this Xmas. We did the grand celebration not Xmas- Disney in room and it was magical and The girls loved it. We brought our own little tree. The girls each got a camera.

This year they know that the trip is the gift and not to expect any surprises. It's about budget.

We did Christmas at YC last December and we are going again this year (12/20-12/28, also at YC)! We did the in-room celebration and it was great. We had a tree decorated along with other items they placed around room. The kids loved it!!!!! So did we. We kept it lit up the entire trip. we just took gifts with us that we could pack (DVDs, PJs, and bought a few things in WDW). It worked out well. I have pictures. Ill post later.

We are going the week before Christmas and I can't believe that I didn't think of this at all. What a great idea! Now I need another piece of luggage to pack decorations!

thanks for the pictures. I know this is extravagant but we are all SO happy he is coming home. He is definitely a keeper. After a year without their dad it will be so special for the kids to spend Christmas at such a magical place. He will be definitely be surprised as we always stay home for Christmas. His favorite snack is the cream cheese pretzel in tomorrowland. I plan on loading him up. Guess you can tell we love our son-in-law!
