"We have been working on this project for over a year," Iger explained. The project will reportedly involve trains blasting from 0 to 500 mph in 6 seconds as guests embark on a thrilling journey through the center of the Earth.

At its climax, Epcot guests will emerge inside Hong Kong Disneyland, where they will be invited to enjoy the attractions there.

"We are really excited to be able to allow our guests to now travel quickly to our properties around the world. Our Epcot guests have been begging us for years to add new attractions to World Showcase, and we answered. Now guests can access an entire Resort from World Showcase during the Year of a Million Dreams Celebration!"

Plans will soon commence with similar adventures leading from France to the Disneyland Resort Paris and from Japan to the Tokyo Disneyland Resort.

I agree, that tarp has been up for a while... I think Japan's taking even longer. I don't know, I'd complain, but then I'm just glad they're fixing things.

IIRC, the tarp started to go up in late August/early September. I know it wasn't there in June of last year, when I arrived in WDW for my internship. It's been up for a while, but not a year. I'm just glad that time and money are being invested in the World Showcase pavilions.

Who knows why World Showcase refurbs take so long. It didn't take this long to build the whole park.

Japan's tarps are in "phase 3" according to documents.

China is having all sort of tie-downs installed.

Also, other buildings in China keep suddenly getting new roof/tiles which are shiny and shallacked. The tip-top of the Temple of Hope is still looking like the gold is rubbing off, so it's obviously not done :(
