Here is a shameless plug for a local event near Richmond, Virginia.

The 4th annual Chesterfield Celtic Heritage Festival is coming up on Saturday, April 5 from 10 am to 8:30 pm. There will be food, music, clans, vendors and craftsmen, men in kilts, bagpipe bands, cold golden and not so golden beverages, dance demonstrations and fun had by all. The cost is only $5, children under 12 are free. One of the bands (Clan An Drumma) hails from Happy Snapper's homeland of Scotland. There are an assortment of performers that range from highly energetic to subdued.

So, if you're in the Richmond/ Chester, Virginia area come on out and have a good time, plus i'll be there all day. It may also be an opportunity to meet some other WDWMagic friends.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks, CelticDog, for posting this. I might come. I looked it up on the Chesterfield County website and found more info.

It will be in the heart of Chester, in Chester Park (where Centre Street meets Rte. 10/Iron Bridge Rd.) If anyone is local and needs directions, just e-mail or PM me, or put 11800 Centre St., Chester, VA, in MapQuest.

Hope I can stop by. Have fun!

Maybe you can post pics later.

By the way, speaking of our common heritage: do any of you England friends know anything about our namesake of Chesterfield in "The Old Country"? What is is like?

I work at Chesterfield County, Virginia, as a tax auditor. Our website is www.co.chesterfield.va.us . Does your Chesterfield have a website?

Just curious.

Women dig the kilt. All men should have a kilt, nothing like nice cool breezes.

I always get some great looks, plus alot women (people in general) love to come up and talk about the kilt and what's under it.:animwink:

Hey Prberk, i did send you an e-mail with ways to catch up with me at the festival, i'll be there unless it's major rainstorm.

Darrel, showing your knees is always something to be proud of.

Go for it.

(Not sure about the black leather I'd imagine you'd go for though!)

I had a wee look for you. Those arent scottish names, so it'll just give you the closest it can.

You might have a more scottish name some where along your lines? For example, My surname is english, not scottish, but my middle name (comes from my mothers family) is scottish, so i can use that.

Here's the link for mine. There are a few different tartans for the robertsons.

DarthDarrel:

Try Electricscotland.com. they have an extensive library of tartans and names. You may not have a family tartan, however you may belong to a regional or district tartan. Plus they also list English and Irish tartans.
