Hello everyone, I was just wondering if I could get any input on chef mickeys, the reservations person at wdw-dine said that its a must do, but my fiance and myself can't figure out if its worth it, and if we should do it for breakfeast or dinner, any help would be great:D

I just did Chef Mickey's last week for dinner. It was nice, I guess. The food was decent. The biggest drawback was that the characters seemed really blase about it and didn't really seem into it. Perhaps we just got a bad bunch that night and they were tired. I dunno. I did enjoy getting to go into the Contemp though seeing as how I love Disney resorts. I much preferred 1900 Park Fare for breakfast though.

I have never done CM before, but have done many meals characters meals too. I would agree that we were impressed with the food and atmaspher at 1900 park fare (we had dinner what great strawberry soup and saw Cindy to boot!) We have ate at the steak house next to CM and always had good food there. For just adults I would recomend that.

What is really worth it for a special occasion is Cafiforina Grill ontop of Cont. Pricey, but still somewhat aforadable, great food, wonderful view. We did this for our 10th wedding aniverisy and were really happy with the choice.

If you want to see mickey try it at Epcot Garden Grill at the Land Pavilon, or Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. Both are good food and a good time. The breakfest at Cape May Cafe does Goffy, chip and dale and Minnie, that was lots of fun too.

We like CP for winne the pooh and the gang for lunch.

I might do CM one time, but it doesn't seem worth the trouble. I have heard a number of accounts of Mickey blowing off some one and not getting to spend much time with the characters. We have ate at GG at Epcot many times, and always had tons of time with all the characters.

Best of luck, maybe some more people who has actully ate there will anwer.

I think that Chef Mickey's is a great place to bring young kids but with just adults I would avoid any character dining restaurant. They tend to be much louder than any other place in WDW!

I totally agree!!!

When I took my 3 kids Chef Mickeys was a blast.

When my wife and I went alone, the noise and napkin waving was just annoying!

I agree. The character meals are great with kids. (don't have any myself, but we take my niece about 2-3 times a year) My husband and I have visited almost every restaurant in the"world" One of our picks for a character meal would be Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was great when we went and it is a good mix with couples and familys. If you are set on going to Chef Mickeys, go for breakfast. It is a better value for the food you get and the characters seem to be a little more awake. If you go early or late you have a better chance of missing big family groups.

We went to CM a few months ago for breakfast and it was really nice. No kids - just two adults. I will agree that it's not quiet and a little chaotic, but as long as you expect that going in - it's fun. The characters were great...posing for lots of pictures and signing autographs. The food was good too as far as I can remember. It's not someplace I'd need to go back to every time I visited, but I think it's an experience worth having.:)
