is there a cheerleader co
petition at WDW the week of 4/28-5/2? drowning in teenage hell at my resort.

One time, had to do a week at ASMovies with at least three other squads sharing the resort that week.
(And only the Ducks pool available for cramming into, since the Fantasia pool was down.)

Buses were tough to get onto, but there were advantages to watching squads practice, on your way to the food court.

As someone who used to coach cheerleaders, I can say this is highly debatable. Sometimes the parents are even worse!

Understatement of the year!!! All I can say is that back in 2011, we(our cheer gym)were staying at the Best Western LBV by DtD. I was taking the elevator down to go get some drinks out of the car and one of the moms from the top squad got in with me. She was holding her Red Solo Cup™ full of whatever it was she was drinking and she reeked of it. She then rambled on about her daughter and called her a b----. Yes, her own daughter, age 15 I think, and that's how she talked about her to someone that for all she knew was a stranger. Not sure if she recognized me but I couldn't believe what she said.

Anyhow, the moms are like that no matter where it is. It's really a shame because a lot of these mothers are just trying to live vicariously through their daughters....

Omg yes! I could tell you some horror stories, but I'm sure they wouldn't surprise you. One of my coworkers had a mom key his car because her daughter got kicked off his squad. And this was a middle school team!

And the crazy part? I'm actually thinking of going back to coaching this year... lol! I must be losing my mind.

I take my kids(dance team) quite often. I try my best to make sure they are on their best behavior. 5 years later even the incoming freshmen know the story of me making one team do silent lunges up and down the sides of the walkways at POFQ after acting a fool. I also made some kids do conditioning in MK for losing their minds. I do not tolerate it.

I HATE how so many groups ruin peoples perceptions for the well behaved ones.

Wouldn't it have been easier and faster to call the front desk for this information than posting the question here?
I posted it while having dinner at Ragland road. s/w a couple next to us & pretty much confirmed it afterwards.

I love it! One reason I quit coaching in my old school district is because parents wouldn't support me in this type of consequence. The district where I plan to teach in the fall is much more supportive of their coaches, so this will be better. I once saw a basketball coach take a few obnoxious players into an occupied classroom and make them do pushups in front of the whole class, with an apology between each rep where they would normally be counting, all because they disrupted their own class. It was awesome.

And yes, this is the district I'm trying to get into now. I happened to be subbing in the room where they did the pushups and saw it all go down. Priceless!

It's either a cheerleading competition or Jr Call Girl competition. Based on the 5% body coverage and one pound of makeup each wore, we had a hard time telling what was swarming us at ESPN during our EE race packet pickup.

But yeah, tons of screaming teens/preteens this weekend.

Hah!

And my girls used to not understand why I wouldn't let them do a car wash for a fundraiser.

I hate to take this tangent but when you have 100 GIRLS walking around ESP WWS in latex bras and panties 3 sizes to small and smothered in face paint, Disney might have moved away from a family environment and onto something else. I seriously felt bad for my 12/yo DD having to view that during our race.

Lol... yep! Sounds about right.
