Hey everyone. So I'm wondering what is the cheapest way to visit Disneyland for 6 days on an upcoming vacation? Is it still possible to add a 6th day to a 5 day ticket? If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, for one, you can go for just 3-5 days. Six days are a lot, I don't think you'll need that many. AAA offers discounts on tickets.

If you want to visit a sixth time, you'll have to buy a one-day ticket.

I had a 6 day ticket on my second visit and I still didn't do everything, so I don't think it is overkill. But I do agree that you can do the major things in the parks in about 4 days total.

To stay on the cheap don't stay at a Disney hotel.

Stay at a Disney "Good Neighbor Hotel" and you can save a LOT. We priced Paradise Pier and the Disneyland Hotel last summer at about $400/night. But we ended up at Candy Cane Inn for $140/night. That was MUCH more to our liking, price-wise, and we were about as far away from the parks at CCI as we would have been at PP or DLH.

Watch where you eat, too. You can take snacks and water into the parks without issue. Some of the sit=down places (Carthay Circle, Blue Bayou) in the parks are pricier than other places.

DLR no longer offers a 6-day ticket, the most number of days you can purchase is 5 days. You would need to purchase an additional 1-day ticket if you insist on 6 days in the parks. If money is an issue, take a day in the middle as a "hotel" day, or take Anaheim Resort Transit to Knott's Berry Farm, which is pretty fun.

The biggest cost savings is by staying off-property. DLR's hotels are all deluxe level, and are (over)priced as such. There are numerous hotels and motels within walking distance of the resort, and dozens more are serviced by Anaheim Resort Transit (which is no different, other than additional cost, than the bus system at WDW).

Most people have a partial day when they arrive and/or leave... use that as your sixth day to do World of Disney/Downtown Disney, explore the hotels, search for the feral cats, etc. Don't listen to these haters that say six days are too many, though... I did quite a few more than six days on my trips and never got bored.
