cheap tripod for the parks

I am bringing my Nikon 5100 with 30mm 1.4, tamron 17-50 2.8, and possibly renting another lens (70-300 or 10.5 fisheye).

This is my first trip bringing all this gear, and I'm pretty sure it will fit in my amazon basics dslr backpack.

Now about the tripod- I don't own one and have never used one but I want to get good long exposures on the boardwalk and at the fireworks. What's a cheap light and portable tripod that won't be too cumbersome to carry around the parks?

I'll have to dig deep for an actual model number but look on B&H at some Manfrotto complete tripods. They run about 125 bucks but break down nice and light. They aren't the best when extended but at the base height it holds my 8 pound Mamiya when I travel.

Yep you can get a Velbon for sub $50 that will do the job. They are not the best by any stretch, but they are great for your use and will get the job done.

Here in the US for that price though? I was under the impression they're a UK based shop.

Does anyone use a Benro Travel Angel?
That's what I was going to suggest. I don't use one, but I did some research on them and they were my plan B when I got my tripod...I went with a Velbon Luxi F (which isn't made anymore) and could not be happier with it. For the gear I have it works great, I put a cheap Benro ball-head on it and my D90 with various lenses has never been a problem.

Actually, now that I think about it the first time I took a tripod to WDW was with a cheap (I mean cheap, probably $20) Wal-Mart special. It was a little cumbersome and I had to hang my bag on it to weigh it down...but it worked. As long as you aren't trying to do any extreme angles with it and you are always standing by it (so it won't tip over) you don't need anything fancy, especially if it won't get used much after your trip.
