Cheap hotels

Hola :) Me and my best friend are hoping to go to orlando in october (depending if we can book everything and stuff) ANYWAY we need a hotel in orlando, I know this is a long shot because the majority of you stay on site but if you can help me GREAT. So these are the things we are looking for in the hotel.

- CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP! Must be cheap cause we want more money to spend in the parks and to shop (also were on a bit of a budget).
- Shuttle buses to the parks - Not so much Universal but definitely Disney.

That's it I think, I also prefer it to be on international drive or near disney so I can get the buses to the parks and still able to get to i-drive. Thanks :)

Hello. I can not give you a hotel reference because I have devoted the past several years to staying on-site. However, I would like to offer you a bit of free advice. Many of the hotels in the area surrounding WDW (International Drive, Irlo Bronson Hwy., etc.) are absolute dumps. Their websites will look professional, along with photos that make the hotel seem clean and modern. Some will belong to national chains, and you will believe that you have found a great deal. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by lower class staff, and find a building in disrepair including mold, mildew, filthy furniture, filthy carpeting, and bedding that makes you feel as though they charge hourly rates for the room. The bathrooms often resemble something that belongs at a highway truck stop. Bugs will be the free pets you've always wanted and the bath towels will fit into a tissue box. These places are hit-and-miss. I hope that you receive several good suggestions on this thread, but exercise a good deal of research and caution if you do not receive replies. Do not choose anything in the "cheapcheapcheap" category without reliable references. I speak from years of experience, as I have been to countless dumps in the area (due to single night stays as a Floridian). They often change names within the years, but the quality remains the same. I wish you well in your search.

Yeahh I know that the majority of them are dumps, the hotel we used to stay at on our visits to florida has now closed so i'm quite sad about that. I've been looking at some and well they're basically you get what you pay for. I thought I found a decent place just to sleep but then bad reviews made me change my mind so I might just go next year and save up a bit more for a disney hotel. Thanks for the help :)

Don't give up yet. Wait to see if you get replies to this thread that are less fatalistic than mine. It's just that I have been to enough of the scary places to know that they would be a sore disappointment, especially if I were traveling all the way from England. Best wishes!

OK I might be able to offer some advice...

Based on staying on Internatinal Drive...I would suggest Rodeway Inn. Thats was the cheapest motel I could find without sacraficing decent rooms. Although, I don't think they had busses to Disney.

However...

Based on staying near Disney, off property...I would suggest Comfort Inn LBV. This motel is at the back entrance to Disney near Hotel Plaza Blvd, just of 535, behind the Crossroads Shopping Center.

I believe they still offer tent camping. If you are into that type of thing and have access to camping gear you could do that. I believe the last time I checked the daily rate was around $40 a day.

There are a few hotels in the area that are part of the "Entertainment book" that is sold by schools and organizations. Take a look in there if you know somebody with one. We have used it in the past to get rooms at the Courtyard at Vista Place for $60 a night. There are other less expensive ones in there too. It may be worth the $15 investment to get one.

to add on to my original post...
Comfort Inn LBV I do believe has busses for Disney. You might want to check out their website or call them. Since they are close to the back entrance you won't waste time going to your hotel in the afternoon or whatever since its so close! The Metropolitain is right next door to the Rodeway Inn and across the street from Wet 'n Wild waterpark!

Sorry I forgot to add this the first time, but I got company and had to say goodbye to them and lost track of what I wanted to say!

Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort and Convention Center, if you go to their website it's around $80-90 a night, but if you go to expedia.com you can find rates for $40 in the summer, I'm sure closer to the fall, discounts will come out for october. They have a shuttle that will run you back and forth from Disney. It's on 192.

I've stayed there before and while it's not my favorite hotel it's not too bad for the price. I felt safe there and the sheets were clean. No bathtub, only a shower. I have to say it's not the best of hotels but if you can snag it for $40 a night, it's worth it.
