Cheap Birthdays Ideas

Going for my mom's birthday in September and I really want to do something for her, but money is, sadly, an option. Kinda looking to spend $50 if I had to do it myself and maybe $80-100 if I somehow got my brother to pay half, and for that it would have to be really really worth it. She is already getting a birthday button and I am going to buy her a plastic crown from a party store before we leave for her to wear.

I have scoured these boards, others and disney facebook sites to find ideas that aren't expensive, even if I have my brother pitch in for some, and that everyone in the family can enjoy (my dad tends to be a party pooper).

Fireworks/Illuminations cruise is too expensive, Dessert party doesn't seem to have many options and is kinda expensive for 4 people. Keys to the kingdom tour is too expensive, even if it's just me and her.

Would love to do a character dining, but my dad and brother refuse and my mom wants all meals as a family (unless by some miracle, my daily calling to see if a resie at BOG has opened up pays off, then all bets are off!!), mostly because my brother doesn't live at home and she hasn't seen him in over a year. Hoop-de-doo sounds like fun, but the men won't go for it.

Was going to do Pick-a-pearl at EPCOT and put it into a necklace cage (like I plan on doing for myself), but she keeps complaining that she has soooo many necklaces.

Was considering getting flowers delivered on her birthday, but we are leaving 2 days later and she can't really put flowers or a nice vase into her suitcase.

Also was considering a cake delivered to the room, but we will only be in the room to sleep after being in the parks all day and they won't feel like cake. Plus, if she gets a cupcake from the places we have reservations (birthday is listed on there), then she won't want a cake on top of that.

She doesn't have a favorite character or anything like that and she keeps saying that there is nothing that she wants.

Help!!!!

I shall be at WDW for my birthday in a week and a half. I also want nothing for my birthday, as I am not really someone who desires much "stuff" in life. With that said, I am contemplating what I would enjoy if I were in your mother's position, while also considering your budgetary restraints.
I think that I would want something "personal" that would be a long-lasting keepsake of the day with my family. Perhaps a more elegant WDW photo frame with a nice photo of everyone posing together. Best wishes, and remember, it's the love, time, and memories that matter to your mother, so don't stress over the "stuff".

Would she like Disney pins as a Disney Birthday trip memento ? There are Trading pins you can get either at the Disney Store web site or in the parks at various pin shops. There are several Happy Birthday character pins and Happy Birthday character pins with birthstone. They would fit well into your budget. And of course the free Happy Birthday pin back button you get at City Hall.

Have you considered an Edible Arrangement? They have a Disney Princess Enchanted Bouquet with a Mickey Mouse pineapple cut-out amongst a variety of fruit. They will deliver it to your resort and the resort CMs will keep it cool until you pick-it-up or arrive to the resort. If you have it delivered the first day, I'm sure everyone in the family will enjoy it. This has been one of the gifts that I receive every year from my daughter; I love it!
