Character Noses

This is kindof silly, and I don't know if it has been discussed recently, but I have always wondered. Why is it that some characters' noses change colors from time to time? I thought it might just be a one-time mistake, but I have seen this happen on these characters more than a few times. In old cartoons, or in pictures of earlier walk-around characters, and even in Disney pins. Like Tigger. I have seen him most often with a pink nose, but sometimes (even on a stuffed animal I have from the early 80's) he has a black nose. At MK recently, I looked at two Tigger pins side-by-side, which were identical except that some of them had pink noses and some had black. . .?! Is there any explanation for that?
The same thing happens with Dale the chipmunk (as in Chip n Dale). Most times he has a red nose and Chip has a smaller black nose. But occasionally you see Dale with a black nose too.
This is not anything remotely pressing, but I have always wondered this since I was little, when I noticed that my stuffed Tigger didn't match the Tigger in my video.
Any thoughts?

In the films, Tigger has a pink nose, but the Disney costumes always gave him a black one. This probably helped keep the costume clean (imagine kid snot on a pink nose!) But rumor says that Tigger's nose will soon be pink.

In Chip and Dale's first appearance, they weren't Chip and Dale. They were just chipmunks. Storymen soon developed them into C & D, and gave Dale a red nose to differentiate. Most of the public still get it wrong, anyway. Their personalities, however, always stayed the same; even with two black noses, one chipmunk was brainy and the other was clumsy.

Okay. I can live with that. Will Tigger's new pink nose be kid snot resistant, then? :p

If the stain factor is the case, is that possibly why seeing Piglet out and about is slightly more rare than Pooh and Tigger? What about all that white and light yellow on Thumper?

And why the different pins? Just because of the walk-around and movie differences?
