Taking the kids (4 & 6) to Disney in May. After reading MANY posts we're going to taking them to Chef Mickey for Bfast. Does anyone have any info on the Character Meal @ AK? We're thinking about doing 2 character meals, 1 show (HDD or Whispering Canyon) and them illuminations or Fantasmic. any other suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Donald's Breakfastosaurus is great! Good food and Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto in safari outfits.

I have to take the "other" side on this one, as I thought Breakfastosaurus was the WORST buffet experience on property!

The place is just not made for the number of people they try to serve there. The buffet line goes right across the entry door, making it a traffic jam at all times.

The way they have to rope off the line to keep those just entering from getting directly in line for food makes it all but impossible to get back in line for seconds, so take LOTS the first time up! The condiment islands are a source of crowding too, with confused children who are apparently seeing a ketchup dispenser for the first time holding up the lines all over.

With all those little rooms, it takes the characters a LONG time to make the rounds to all tables, so chance are you will only be visited by one or two during your breakfast.

The only thing I can recommend this breakfast for is getting into the most beautiful WDW park before opening for some great pictures and the ability to experience the natural beauty and quiet of the park!

ON THE OTHER HAND...HOOP-DEE-DOO is a MUST!!! Great fun for all!!!

HAVE FUN!!!

I, on the other hand, had a wonderful experience at Donald's Breakfastsaurus. We immediatly went to the buffet once seated and we were able to get seconds before the characters came around. When they did, they spent a good amount of time in our section, more then I have seen at other VERY popular character meals on property. We did go during a small peak time of the year so it was busy but not overpacked. My advice is to go here if your visiting during slower times, and try to get the earliest seating time available!!!

Thanks for all the input. We made ADR at Chef Mickey (The 1st full day we're there!!) We're debating about a second character meal, either this one or hopefully the Toy Story meal if that comes together by May

I would recommend that you reserve the Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast at the Contemporary. I thought it was a very delicious breakfast and I had a great time with the characters. I have also experienced the breakfast at the Animal Kingdom and wasn't real impressed with the food they served.

My family enjoyed the character breakfast at AK. The negative comment above indicated it was too crowded. We at at the first sitting (8am for a 9am AK park opening).

The Restaurant was half full at that time. (It was getting crowded when we left) The characters (Mickey included) spent lots of time with the kiddos, & the food was good (typical breakfast buffet fare) and was just put out on the tables.

One other big advantage to the "first seating" was that we were a couple of hundreds yards closer to the main attractions when the park opened at 9AM. We (and the other dozen or so "first seating" diners), were on the FIRST tram of the Safari Ride & it greatly shortened our day.

We're going again in May and will do the 8am character Bfast at AK again.

I thought the AK breakfast wasn't very good. Very few characters. If you get up to get in the buffet line, you may just miss them! The best is Cinderella (good luck with that one!) and another one we liked was at the Land pavillion in the Garden Grill revolving restaurant. We saw lots of characters and it wasn't crowded.
