:sohappy: My family (me, hubby and 4 year old son) are headed to Disney the first of May. I have been a handfull of times, but my family hasn't. First, what is the best character meal to take my angel to? Second, any other suggestions for Disney with family would be greatly apprecaited!
Thanks and God bless.

We took my 1st son in 99 and he was 3 1/2. We did Chef Mickey's (Mickey, goofy. minnie, chip & dale), Crystal palace (Pooh and all his friends) and we also did something called the All American Backyard BBQ at Ft. Wilderness. It was a 4 hour dinner show with Mickey & Co. along with a bunch of cowboys and cowgirls. The kids get to interact with the characters and the show is great. My son LOVED it. I stumbled onto it by accident. We had reservations for Minnie's Luau at the Poly but 2 months before we left for wdw it was discontinued. I found a very small paragraph in the Unofficial guide about the BBQ and went with it.
I was glad I did. We leave in 10 days with both of my sons and have PS for the ice cream social at the Garden Grill in Epcot. We have never done this before but were told it is pretty good. Mickey & co are there while you and your family feast on (from what I'm told) incredible ice cream sundaes! Have fun planning, hope this helps!:)

What characters does your son like the most? That can really help you choose what meal to go to.

If he is a fan of Mickey and the gang then there are plenty of restarants that you can go to. Look at www.wdwig.com for the menus of the different places and see which one is best for your family. Then if you see there are a bunch of places that are possibilities ask him whether he would want to visit Mickey on the farm (garden grill) or on safari (Breakfastosaurus). Also on WDWIG.com they have the pictures of some of the characters at the meals so you can show him those.

If he wants to see Pooh, you can go to Crystal Palace or 1900 Park Fare.

We are partial to the Graden Grill at Epcot. Both my children (Now 5 and 3) love it. They enjoy the revolving effect (even though it is not very dramatic) and the charaters are really fun. The restraunt seems somewhat smaller than many of the other character ones and the characters (Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto) have more time to interact with the kids. We adults enjoy the delicious food and appreciate the family style service (rather than having to juggle plates in a bufffet line with little ones).

My 4-yr-old loves Chef Mickey's & the Crystal Palace.

I would like to try the breakfast at Cinderella's Castle but he thinks girls (the princesses) are "yucky". :D

Our favorites are the Crystal Palace for the earliest possible breakfast PS or the Restaurantasaurus in AK for the same. The character interaction is great, the food is very good, and you are in the park ready to ride the most popular rides before the gates even open.

It is almost worth it to me to do a different breakfast every day of a trip to get the jump on the crowds.
