Character Dining

Has anyone on here ever done character dining while NOT staying on site? My wife's doing a half marathon in Sarasota in March and we're definitely doing a day at Downtown Disney. But I'm also considering doing a character dinner at Chef Mickey's that same day for the sake of my will-be one year old daughter.

My question is can you even get character dining reservations if you're not staying on site? Also, what's the parking situation if you aren't staying at the Contemporary but just visiting Chef Mickey's for a dinner?

Thank you for your help.

Yes. You can still make dining reservation 180 days in advance even if you are staying off site and most character dining will have availability at 180 days. The only advantage staying on site gives you is it allows you to book for your entire trip at 180 days out for up to 10 days.

Three hours should be enough for that, I believe. A baby doesn't exactly have the longest attention span.

Thanks again.
