Character Dining

I'd love to hear some reviews or thoughts on Surfs Up, Goofy's Kitchen or Plaza Inn character meals.

Has anyone been to one of these recently? What were your thoughts? Was it worth it?

Thanks.

Surf's Up is my favorite - least crowded, most relaxed. Food is good. Plaza Inn is nice on slower days, and the number of characters usually can't be beat. Goofy's Kitchen is the Chuck E Cheese of character dining establishments - generally mediocre food, rushed character interaction, service staff that will rush you to flip the table. Storytellers is the only one I've never been to.

I did the Plaza inn recently and loved it. I met the same characters listed above except ofr Winnie the pooh and Tigger (But thats OK because they are in Critter country to meet later) and I met Captain Hook. I actually had the nightmare of 2 characters coming at me from different ends and it was Eeyore and Captain Hook which made for the funniest and most random double character photo ever!

We have done the Plaza breakfast each of the last three summers, including about three weeks ago. Its my favorite as far as the number of characters you meet. This past summer we met close to ten different characters. In the past, we have met more then 15!!! The food isn't anything special and unlike WDW, you serve yourself. You get everything, including drinks. The price is much cheaper because of this.

Goofys kitchen we have done and its very similar at breakfast as the Plaza. We met over a dozen characters there as well.

Surfs up was the worst character breakfast we have had in either WDW or DL. I have absolutely nothing good to say about the character interaction or the staff there so I won't say anything at all about our experience other than we met a total of three characters in just over 90 minutes. My wife had time to walt from PP to CA to the bakery to buy sourdough bread for the ride home and get back to PP and she didn't miss a thing!

I do have pictures I will try to post from all three.

Hope this helps.

I went to Surf's Up and had a pretty good experience. The food was decent and the characters came and interacted in a fun way with my niece. There was a little dance party with Stitch too.

There were others as well. Hook, Fairy Godmother, and a few others. The kids were ready to roll after about 45 minutes. I will have to get my other lap top, but we have met others there in the past as well.

We ate at the Surf's up Breakfast last August. We really had a good time. The characters were quick to come to our table and spent a decent amount of time with us. Stitch kept playing with us and covering my girls eyes. The girls were asked to come to the front and dance with Mickey. They danced to 3 or 4 songs. The food was good, but standard breakfast fare. I would consider the food similar to Chef Mickey's at WDW.
