Current character dining... hmmm.... probably the Garden Grille at the Land. Overall, the defunct Pooh breakfast at Olivia's in Old Key West, since it was only $12 per person and was never busy

Breakfast is definately Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary and for dinner The Liberty Tree Tavern. We loved the food and the characters in Colonial garb is different. My least favorite was the Princess Dinner in Norway... not very well organized, very crowdwd and we did not care for most of the food.

I've never had a bad one. Sometimes the food isn't great but you're paying for the characters. My family's favorites are Liberty Tree Tavern, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. CRT is great for little girls.

I've done quite a few now. I'd rank them this way...

1. Garden Grill (but I no longer eat there since they took chicken off the menu)
2. 1900 Park Fare (It was a nice change from the same old Pluto, Chip, and Dale)
3. Liberty Tree Tavern (great food and a lot of character interaction)
4. 'Ohana (great food, but a long wait for characters)
5. Chef Mickey's
6. Crystal Palace

We've only done two, Liberty Tree Tavern (both regular and during the MNSSHP), and the Princess Storybook.

Both were nice, but the Liberty Tree is the best. You got Chip and Dale. You can always count on the two of them to cause "problems" and be funny to watch.

Wow Shelty66 I fell so bad that you haven't enjoyed a character meal. We love them. Please give it another shot.

For breakfast our favorite is Cape May -- it's almost a secret as noone ever talks about it.

Dinner favorite is Liberty Tree Tavern.

We also like Chef Mickey's, O'Hanas, Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella.

Really didn't like Norway Princess dinner at all (I can't spell the restaurant name)

We loved Hollywood and Vine and keep praying they will bring it back as The Studios now has no character dining at all.

We found the character interaction at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner is the best. When we went though our food was not very good which was a major dissapointment as we eat there for lunch normally as a must do place every trip. I think we just had a bad night and are doing it again on this trip.

Chef Mickey's is not bad either. We found the character interaction good and is a lot of fun and the food is decent.

We just recently did the new Cinderella's Royal Table Princess lunch and it was excellent. The food was outstanding (had the Major Domo's Favorite Pie).

Personally I prefer to do character lunches or dinners over breakfasts as you get a lot more for your money. For instance for the CRT lunch it is only a difference of $2.00 per head over the breakfast. It is not a ton more money than a nice sit down lunch would cost you anyway. But for breakfast $21.99 (for an adult) is a lot of money when breakfast is usually the cheapest meal of the day.

Just my 2 cents.

Enjoy whatever you do.

I think the food at Liberty Tree Tavern is excelent for dinner. Very much a "home cooked meal" type of fair. And I'd put the Garden Grill in there too. Both have nice meals, lots' of food if your hungry for it all, and the charachter to boot.

Now for the breakfast meals, like I said before, the only one I did was Storybook, and the meal was average. Eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. This was a few months after they began doing the meal. I've had much much better meals elsewhere. The interaction with the characters was great and very one-on-one. And as the only couple without kids there, it was probebly a nice break for the princesses to get to talk to average people than super excited little girls that became speachless once the character walked up to the table to greet them. :D

I would not do it again, and I would never had done that one just for the food.

I still think if you're looking for a good meal, and having the characters there, LTT or GG. If your looking to surprise the kids and give them a thrill, then CRT or Storybook.

There's a difference. One is for a nice meal, with a bit of fun. The other is for fun, with something to eat on the side. IMHO. :D
