Character Dining at my proposed Disney park

I now have a list of character meals which take place at my proposed park. Like the character meals at WDW and DL Anaheim, 4-7 characters will visit, chat with, and take pictures with the guests while they eat! Here is what I have so far:

MAGIC KINGDOM (Phase 1 park)

Belle's Royal Table: Character breakfast inside Belle's restaurant on the second floor of the castle. The menu will be somewhat like Cinderella's Royal Table at WDW, but customers will have several different choices to order from instead of the same pre-plated dish for everyone.

Characters include Belle, Aladdin, Jasmine, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Pocahontas, and Snow White.

unnamed Main Street USA restaurant: I could use your help with trying to find an appropriate name for this restaurant. WDW has The Crystal Palace on Main Street and DL Anaheim has Plaza Inn, but I think I should have something different.

Anyway, this is a character buffet similar to Crystal Palace; with Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger greeting customers at all 3 meals (B, L, & D). Since only four characters appear on a regular basis, special guest characters may appear as well.

DISNEY STUDIOS (name of park's location), the Phase 2 park

Hollywood & Dine: Similar to the now-defunct (I think) Disney-MGM restaurant at WDW, with a Hollywood Heyday theme.

Breakfast: Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck (in Hollywood starlet outfits), with Goofy (in a gangster outfit), Pluto, Chip, and Dale.

Lunch: same characters as above

Dinner: Starlet Minnie, Starlet Daisy, Gangster Goofy, Pluto, Belle, and the Beast.

Riptide Lagoon (Phase 3 park):

No character meals have been planned yet.

DISNEYLAND HOTEL

1900 Park Faire: Similar to WDW counterpart, this restaurant's theme is that of a turn-of-the-century circus, complete with a carousel horse!

Breakfast: Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Blue Fairy, and Jiminy Cricket

Afternoon Tea: For children ages 3-10, similar to event at the Grand Floridian's 1900 Park Faire, with Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Gus (the fat mouse with the deep voice), Jaques (the skinny, squeaky-voiced mouse), Pinocchio, and Jiminy Cricket.

DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD HOTEL

Roger Rabbit's Buffeteria: Simply put, a buffet-type restaurant themed to Rogger Rabbit's Toontown! Here, Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit (face character currently not appearing in any other Disney park!) are joined by a wide variety of Disney characters:

Breakfast: Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit, Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip, Esmerelda, and Mulan.

Dinner: Roger, Jessica, Aladdin, Jasmine, Snow White, Peter Pan, and Captain Hook.

DISNEYLAND CONTEMPORARY RESORT

Contemporary Café:

Breakfast: A buffet offering a menu similar to that of Donald's Breakfastasaurus in WDW's Animal Kingdom-- characters include Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto.

PARADISE PIER HOTEL

Couldn't think of anything at the moment! You could try to help me out here!

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

Chef Mickey's: Basically the same as the restaurant at WDW's Contemporary Resort, serving Breakfast and Dinner.
Characters at both meals include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale.

Any questions, comments, or suggestion about these character meals are welcome, since I need your feedback on this! I look forward to hearing from you! :)

Looks good. Personally, I would change the name of Belle's to something else. I've always been partial to the name Lumiere's for a B&B themed reataurant.

About Holywood and Dine, just out of curiosity, how do Belle and Beast fit in with the old Hollywood theme?

The Blue Fairy, Jaq, Gus, , and Jessica don't to theme park appearences. They only do shows and parades. Also, Jiminy and Peter Pan is a hard character to have around in so many places, especially Jiminy. He barely ever makes appearences at WDW. Maybe just have them at one meal each. Same with the Princes.

I never thought about that! BTW, WDW's has (to used to have) a fast food joint in Fantasyland called Lumiere's. Not sure how that name would fit this type of Restaurant; a more elegant, royalty themed reataurant similar to CRT inside a castle.

IIRC, you mentioned that Belle and the Beast were at Disney-MGM restuarant in a recent IM conversation. I thought it was Hollywood & Dine, but I may be wrong.

First of all, this park is not Walt Disney World-- this is a brand new, completely different Disney theme park which more than likely will be located nowhere near Orlando! Therefore, the character rotation will be different from WDW or other Disney parks. BTW, at WDW Cinderella appears at 2 meals-- CRT at Breakfast inside the castle and 1900 Park Faire Dinner at the Grand Floridian. She is usually joined by the Prince, Fairy Godmother, and Suzy & Perla (the 2 female mice). The character dinner at the Disneyland Hotel in this proposed park has a similar character lineup-- but I replaced Suzy and Perla with Gus and Jaques to make it different. Also the 1900 Park Faire Dinner had Peter Pan, Hook, and the gang from PP for a while, IIRC it was for a little while shortly after the infamous "Villans Meal" (circa 2000-2001) was terminated. After that, Winnie the Pooh and the gang hosted it for a while, then Cinderella and her friends. I also put a emphasis on offering character meals with harder to find at WDW and the other Disney parks.

It may be harder for the "face characters" to appear in a lot of places, since oftentimes only one person is avaliable to play them (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), so maybe I could cut back on a few appearances. BTW, could you or anyone else here come up with a name for the Main Street USA character restaurant, or if any others are too similar, something else?

Anyway, it was great to hear from you, Meeko! This may be the first time you've replied directly to one of my posts! Thanks for your reply! :)

Lumiere's Kitchen was indeed the name of a fast food location at MK, but Lumiere's is also a very elegant restaurant aboard the Disney magic, so I think that that would work fine in a Castle. Also, the restaurant I was talking about where I met Belle and Beast at MGM was the Soundstage Reataurant, not Hollywood and Vine. It use to be where Playhouse Disney is now and was themed to movie sets from Disney films. They fit wonderfully at the restaurant, but they don't fit at all in the 1930s/ 40s era Hollywood theme of Hollywood and Vine.

The characters that don't appear ar WDW and other parks frequently have reasons behind why they don't appear more often. It's hard to explain some of the reasons behind them, but they are quite legitimate. You may want to try PMing or IMing mkt on the boards. He's, for lack of a better word, a Character expert and could explain it to you better than I ever could.

Most of the more common face characters could easily do two meals (Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine, Aladdin, Belle, Mary Poppins), but the rest probably should be limited to at most one meal each.
