This is a revised draft of the various Character Meals planned for my 6th Disney theme park proposal. Like the character meals at WDW and DL Anaheim, a small groups of characters will each visit, chat with (face characters only) and pose for pictures with guests while they eat! Here is what I now have:

MAGIC KINGDOM (Phase 1 park)

Lumière's: Character breakfast inside Belle's restaurant on the second floor of Beauty and the Beast Castle. The menu will be somewhat like Cinderella's Royal Table at WDW, but customers will have several different choices to order from instead of the same pre-plated dish for everyone.

Characters include Belle, Aladdin, Jasmine, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Snow White.

Crystal Palace: Similar to its WDW counterpart, the Crystal Palace is a buffet restaurant located on Main Street, USA. Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger greet customers at all three meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner).

DISNEY STUDIOS (NAME OF PARK'S LOCATION), the Phase 2 park

Hollywood and Vine "Cafeteria of the Stars": Similar to the now-defunct (I think) Disney-MGM restuarant, with a Hollywood Heyday theme. Includes character meals at breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast & Lunch: Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck (in Hollywood starlet outfits), with Goofy (In a gangster outfit), Pluto, Chip, and Dale.

Soundstage Restaurant: Also similar to the former Soundstage Restaurant at Disney-MGM-- which includes a character dinner.

Dinner: Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, Belle, and the Beast (this is similar to the lineup the former WDW restaurant had a few years back!)

RIPTIDE LAGOON (Phase 3 park)

Avalon Cove: Character breakfast buffet offered in this Paradise Pier restaurant. Characters include Esmerelda, Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, and Prince Phillip; along with Ariel, who greets guests in the lobby due to her limited mobility.

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

Chef Mickey's: Basically the same as the restaurant at WDW's Contemporary Resort, serving Breakfast and Dinner. Characters at both meals include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip, and Dale.

DISNEYLAND HOTEL

1900 Park Faire: Similar to its WDW counterpart, this restaurant's theme is that of a turn-of-the-century circus and/or fair, complete with a real carousel horse as part of the decor!

Breakfast: Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, and Geppetto.

Afternoon Tea: For children ages 3-10, similar to the event at the Grand Floridian's 1900 Park Faire, with Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Fairy Godmother, Pinocchio and Geppetto. (I replaced Suzy and Perla with Pinocchio and Gepetto to offer something a little different from the Grand Floridian's Cinderella's Gala Feast)

DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD HOTEL

Roger's Buffeteria: Simply put, a buffet-type restaurant themed to Toontown from the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Here, Roger is joined at Breakfast and Dinner by a wide variety of his Disney friends.

Breakfast: Roger Rabbit, Goofy, Max, Rafiki, and Timmon. (IIRC, Rafiki and Timmon join Goofy and Pluto at WDW's Swan & Dolphin Resort's character dinner; so I can't see why they couldn't work well together here!)

Dinner: Roger Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Peter Pan, and Captain Hook. I know this meal may seem surreal and disjointed in terms of characters; but what I wanted to do for this dinner was offer a variety of different characters instead of a monotonous group (ie: the circa 2000-2001 Villians Meal at 1900 Park Faire). At dinner, Roger is joined by 3 comical-type cartoon characters much like himself (Mickey, Donald, and Goofy), a face character (Peter Pan) who seems to have great chemistry with more comical characters (a great example is the final float in the Share a Dream Come True parade at WDW, where Peter joins Minnie, Donald, and Goofy), and a villian (Hook) from the latter characters cartoon. In other words, a little of something for everyone! :)

DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT

Comtemporary Café:

Character Breakfast: a buffet offering a menu similar to Donald's Breakfastasarus in WDW's Animal Kingdom, but stripped of its prehistoric and safari theming. Characters include Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto.

PARADISE PIER HOTEL

No character meals have been planned.

If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please reply, since I really need your feedback on this! Also try to visit my last post with the hotel revisions. I look forward to hearing from you! :)

A FEW CHARACTER DINING STATISTICS

CHARACTER DINING LOCATIONS:

Magic Kingdom: 4 character meals/2 restaurants
Disney Studios: 3 character meals/2 restaurants
Riptide Lagoon: 1 character meal/1 restaurant

Downtown Disney: 2 character meals/1 restaurant

Disneyland Hotel: 2 character meals (plus children's afternoon tea)/1 restaurant
Hollywood Hotel: 2 character meals/1 restaurant
Contemporary Inn: 1 charcater meal/1 restaurant

CHARACTER DINING MEALS OFFERED:

Breakfast: 8 breakfast meals
Lunch: 2 lunch meals
Dinner: 5 dinner meals

This gives us a grand total of 15 character meals within 9 restuarants! IIRC, Disneyland Anaheim has 9 character meals and WDW has approximately 20; so 15 appears to be a direct compromise between the existing Florida and California parks as well as a suitible number to fit a theme park resort on this scale.

Looks pretty good, except Maid Marian is no longer appears in any of the Disney parks. She disappeared from the Robin Hood unit when they all got "face lifts" a few years back.

Why was she retired? And just because she disappeared from the other Disney parks, why does thins mean Maid Marian can't be used here? IMHO, I was planning on including a few characters not seen and/or retired from the other Disney theme parks to offer a few things you won't find anywhere else! This is one of the many ways I was planning to make this proposed 6th Disney park stand out and gain a great deal of attendance! :D

Maid Marian was phased out of the parks because she was unpopular and there's not much point in having unpopular characters in the park when you could have characters that people really want to see. Because she never got a "face-lift" with the rest of the Robin Hood unit, she can't come out. She just doesn't match with the other characters anymore. You could re-do her though and introduce her to your park.
