Minor changes to Mission Space ??
Hey everyone!
I've read a few articles that are popping up all over the place about Mission:Space, praising its realism and technology and whatnot. I'll provide the links to those articles at the bottom of this post.
But, first I have some questions about certain things mentioned in the articles about things in the ride/queue area that sound a little different than what I experienced in August and I was wondering if these "minor" changes were made.
First, a tour of MS from mouseplanet describes the queue area now containing video monitors above the queue area that lies adjacent to the control room (before the team dispatch) that displays more warnings for the ride. It also mentions that the first pre-show had only two monitors rather than the three I saw. Did they remove 1 monitor from each pre-show room and install them in the last section of the queue area?
Second, a techlive article says that after you are "buckled up" in the capsules, a small video of Gary Sinise is shown thanking us "would-be astronauts" for our "dedication to space travel" before lift-off. This may just be the small video monitors that have Gary talking about the ship and how proud mission control is when you are loading into the capsules, but I don't remember him ever thanking us for our dedication to space travel. Something as little as actually doing that (and making it noticeable to first-time riders) probably would help with any confusion some guests get on the whole theme of the attraction, which is a training center, vs an actual space flight. Did they add a new intro video to the capsules, either on the small or main monitors?
Third, in a concept drawing of the main inside queue area (where the gravity wheel is), they had flags from different countries hanging from the ceiling. I read a recent description of the queue area that mentioned that these flags were in fact in the queue now. Is this true? (This would also help in converyig the theme of an INTERNATIONAL space training center)
Well, here are several recent good articles on MS:
Disney's New Thrill: A TECH TV article
So you want to be an astronaut: A look at the high technology used in MS
A photo and video tour of MS
I hope everyone enjoys the articles, and I thank those in advance who can answer my three questions above.
