Minor changes to Mission Space ??

Hey everyone!

I've read a few articles that are popping up all over the place about Mission:Space, praising its realism and technology and whatnot. I'll provide the links to those articles at the bottom of this post.

But, first I have some questions about certain things mentioned in the articles about things in the ride/queue area that sound a little different than what I experienced in August and I was wondering if these "minor" changes were made.

First, a tour of MS from mouseplanet describes the queue area now containing video monitors above the queue area that lies adjacent to the control room (before the team dispatch) that displays more warnings for the ride. It also mentions that the first pre-show had only two monitors rather than the three I saw. Did they remove 1 monitor from each pre-show room and install them in the last section of the queue area?

Second, a techlive article says that after you are "buckled up" in the capsules, a small video of Gary Sinise is shown thanking us "would-be astronauts" for our "dedication to space travel" before lift-off. This may just be the small video monitors that have Gary talking about the ship and how proud mission control is when you are loading into the capsules, but I don't remember him ever thanking us for our dedication to space travel. Something as little as actually doing that (and making it noticeable to first-time riders) probably would help with any confusion some guests get on the whole theme of the attraction, which is a training center, vs an actual space flight. Did they add a new intro video to the capsules, either on the small or main monitors?

Third, in a concept drawing of the main inside queue area (where the gravity wheel is), they had flags from different countries hanging from the ceiling. I read a recent description of the queue area that mentioned that these flags were in fact in the queue now. Is this true? (This would also help in converyig the theme of an INTERNATIONAL space training center)

Well, here are several recent good articles on MS:

Disney's New Thrill: A TECH TV article

So you want to be an astronaut: A look at the high technology used in MS

A photo and video tour of MS

I hope everyone enjoys the articles, and I thank those in advance who can answer my three questions above. :)

The Tv's they added in the queue are smaller ones than were in the preshow. I havent been into the ISTC for over 2 weeks, so I cant answer the other questions, but removing a tv from the preshow wouldnt matter. Im guessing it was the one in the center, because no one watched it anyway. I'll have to see it next time Im there, cuz it sounds like alot has changed

We were there in Oct. and there were small monitors next to the CM control room that showed people in the ride, and a cgi animation of the centrifuge in motion. We felt that there were ample warnings of the intensity of the ride. Having not seen the original pre-show, we thought it was very clear that this was a training program, and not an actual trip to Mars. Friends rode in August, and they expressed confusion on wether it was supposed to be real or not. BTW, we LOVED Mission Space!

As long as they don't change the effects of the ride itself, like they did to countdown to extinction. I was there when that ride first opened and it was absolutely awesome. I'm not going to epcot for two more weeks, I hope they don't "tame" it down before then.

Does anybody agree with me that there should be different ride sequences, kind of like ToT? Cause once you've done it, you've done it a million times over, and over again.

Yea, someday I imagine there being different missions and maybe even different motion sequences from ride to ride and I look forward to that day. But definetely not yet. This ride has only really been open to the public for a little over 2 months. I think they should/and will give it several years until a lot of people travel to Disney and have gotten the chance to ride this version before doing anything to change it. Most people in the immediate Orlando area may want a change sooner, but most people coming to Disney go once every 5 years, if lucky. It took something like 5-6 years to perfect what we have now, so I think they are going to allow enough time for a large chunk of people to experience this version before any changes are made ;) Afterall, how many other rides out there even have the technology to change their program allowing a conversation like this to even come up. I'm glad MS does, but I think they should wait a few years before making any drastic changes.
