Changes to DDP??

I was wondering if anyone else has heard about the rumored changes to the DDP? The rumor is that there is no longer going to be a desert offered for TS/CS meals, and instead that you would get two snack credits a day. The cm at Disney dining denied this, but as the past has showed just because its denied todays doesn't mean it won't go into effect somewhere along the line. The rumor showed this going into effect April 1. I would really like to find out what is going on since we are going in June. I don't want over 70 snack credits, my family want's our desert.

I have not heard of this but.....

I don't like when things like this start changing (i know it is just a rumor) but, the plan is such a great deal and now they might pull it back! At least give people the option of apetizer or desert! I agree that both is a lot of food.

Hmmm. this is also the first I've heard of any possibly changes. IF these do come to pass, I hope that they keep the dessert at the table service places. That's half the fun! I can understand IF they want to remove the dessert from the counter service meal. Many places don't have much of a selection of desserts. Either way, I still hope nothing happens. I also don't want a ton of snacks left over. I'd much rather have the dessert.

Where did you first hear this?

I think they should take off the desserts at the counter service places BUT let those count as a snack credit. That way people who need dessert at two meals a day can have it, but those who don't can choose to have a popcorn AND a Mickey bar the same day.

I was amazed at how much food the DDP gives you.

I hope not!

I feel "obligated" to order dessert [or grab one on CS] if it's part of DDP. Wouldn't want to not get something I'm "entitled" to! If they make dessert a snack option, then I would feel guilty for taking that rich, delightful cheesecake instead of the "healthy" apple!

I need to believe I'm ordering dessert because I have no choice!

LOL! We NEVER order dessert when we eat out at home. I am REALLY looking forward to having DESSERT on the DDP! :slurp: I am actually walking an EXTRA mile a day (on my treadmill) JUST to get ready for those extra pounds that are coming! LOL!

But ... TWO DESSERTS A DAY, I think, IS a bit much. IF they dropped the dessert on the CS meal & added an extra snack (maybe they could designate one snack a day for food, and the other for a drink?), I think it might work out.

HAPPY DISNEYING ALL!

No no no!!! There are no extra pounds! Disney desserts on vacation are magically free of calories [made with pixie dust, don't you know]! ...I just happen to have a somewhat wider profile after the trip than before... Really :lookaroun

Yes, I agree with MontyMon. I am pretty sure I read somewhere all Disney food is fat free:slurp: Of course I might have read it in my dreams but please Disney don't take the desserts away!!!

Just wondering where exactly you heard this rumor, because it popped up on another board today, too with no source listed.

If it's you spreading the rumor, please tell us your source so we can check into it further.

Thanks!

I'm going for spring break. Thr trip was set up through the school and the travel agent. We were told that instead of one snack/table/quick service that they would give 40.00 per person per day to use anywhere at any time. So if you had 100.00 left at the end you can eat at V&A's and only pay an extra 30.00. That's what we were told the change was. That was the first I had heard of it.

That sounds like a debit card rather than the Dining Plan. I think that it may be something diffferent being set up for your specific group.

You do realize that bottled soda and water count as a snack right? There's no need to designate one to each....

The original creator of this "rumor" over at DisBoards has re-posted that it was a misprint on some literature received in the UK.

Thankfully, no changes as drastic as this are planned at the moment.

Carry on, folks!....nothing to see here!

Yes, I realize! I said ... they should give each person TWO snacks per DAY, one for food (popcorn, ice cream) & one for drink (water, soda). ~ So you have water, to wash down your dry popcorn. ~ Right now, you get just ONE snack per day.

Phew! Scared me there for a second... :lookaroun

Glad to hear all is well. They shouldn't tamper with a good thing! 2 snacks would be a bit much, IMHO. We had a few left over last time, I can't imagine how many we wouldn't use if we had twice the amount to start out with.

Now, If you'll excuse me, I'm going to drool over some menus. :slurp:

My point was just that there was no need to seperate snacks into food and drink...since it's already set up so you can get what you want. :)
