Changes coming to ADR's For Onsite Guests

I have been reading on some other boards that there are changes in to works that will alter the current 90 day window that we all have now on ADR's. The changes are set to take effect on 07/18/05. From what I have been reading, different CM's are giving out two different stories about how this will work. To take advantage of these changes, you must be an onsite guest. If you cancel your hotel reservation, any ADR's attached to it will be cancelled. So, be careful if you are doing a split stay and then change everything at the last minute to stay in just one hotel.

The first variation on the change is that onsite guests will now have a 100 day window for ADR's. I love this idea! IMO, this would be a great onsite perk.

The second variation is that at 90 days, onsite guests will be able to book not only the ADR's for that first vacation day, but also for up to 10 days ahead. This would eliminate the need to call multiple times to make ADR's! To an extent, it would a little less helpful. It also rewards the guests who book longer stays. I prefer the first variation, because I feel that it is more fair overall.

So, to all of you approaching 90/100 day windows at or around 07/18/05, keep your eyes and ears open! Maggie

It'll be interesting to see how/if this works out. You got any scuttlebutt on this, JPVonDrake?

I'll be happy to post all the details and answer any questions once this new policy is officially released on Monday 7/18/05.

Stay tuned! :sohappy:

I knew we could count on you, JPVD. Thanks a bunch!
:D
At least now it will make a bit more sense when they ask you to punch in your confirmation number (although I'm sure there was a perfectly good reason to begin with).

They make you punch in your # now?

Unless I'm confused with something else, they ask you to punch in either your home phone number or your resort confirmation number. Maybe it varies depending on whether you select the "I'm already in Orlando" or "My trip is more than one week away" option.

The official word is out. At 90 days, onsite guests will be able to book not only the ADR's for that first vacation day, but also for up to 10 days ahead. This will eliminate the need to call multiple times to make ADR's! Maggie

Please note that mousesavers.com is NOT an official Disney website, and is notorious for posting inaccurate information. Some of the points mentioned on that site about this new benefit are incorrect.

Stay tuned! I will post FULL details of the new Resort Benefit once it's official! :sohappy:

So when I call to make reservations for Biergarten on NYE I can call 100 days ahead now? We're staying at POR. Just wanted to make sure I'm understanding this right.

In the interest of any newbies that might stumble by, in the future it might behoove you to mention what "ADR" or other rarely-used shortened name means at the beginning of a thread. I scratched my head when I saw the headline on the WDWMagic main site. Yeah, I realized what it meant when I got here, but it puzzled me for a second there.

Just a note to be courteous to the visitors/newbies.

I agree. I was a bit confused for a minute or so.

And I would DEFINITELY wait for JPVonDrake to post the "official" news. He is ALWAYS correct. I have come to trust his posts. Thanks for all you do JP!

I agree we should wait for JPVonDrake as he always provides like info.

To answer an earlier post: I think it's still 90 days before you vacation starts. Once you are 90 days from your vacation, you can ADR for up to 10 days after that (which is 100 days). so if your vacation starts Dec 1 you can make up to 10 days (Dec 1 - 10) of ADR on Aug 2.

We went it May. Once I was 90 days before arriving in Disney, I called every day to make PS (now ADR). I had to get up early every morning to ensure I got the PS I wanted. I did this for 8 mornings. It made my phone bill expensive that month.

Good idea Disney, even though we don't have all the offical facts yet.

I'm not sure how this worked before, but I called a few days ago and made dinner reservations for our six-day trip. I made five nights of reservations at different restaurants in one phone call. Does this have anything to do with what you guys are talking about? By the way, I'm leaving on July 24th, if that makes any difference...

For your case you were already passed the 90 mark. Your 90 day mark was May 25th. That is why your were make a PS in one call since all your days was less then 90 days out.
