What is the purpose in this from Disney's perspective? I know they do something similar at the other parks (other than MK). Why not just open at 9, rather than advertise 9 and open earlier?

That's great. An easy opening without crowded pushing and shoving.

It get people in quicker than opening at exactly nine, too. If they start processing people through the tapstiles at nine, many don't get in until well past nine.

Morning EMH is the only time AK has. I would assume that no matter what time they are to open to reg or resort guest it will be 15 min earlier, HS does this a lot.

It will still happen, but it will just take place at 8:45am, instead of 9am.

It will probably be a bit quieter, because some people won't research and so will get there for 9am (and be disappointed at the queues), but those that plan will now know to get to DAK for 8:45am instead of 9am.

What's best about this, those that arrive early are allowed in. Instead of arriving early, standing around and watch those that show up after them push their way to the front of the line.

I've read that during EMH mornings, animal kingdom will be opening from 7-8. Currently, during the summer at least, Epcot has been technically opening at 845, which I don't really care for, but the early openings aren't unheard of.

If they're letting people in through the tapstiles, there is no reason to run. It won't be a huge rush of people all at once, so no worries!

I think this is the best possible system - and the safest! - of all.
