Celebrating 10 Years Together

Hi Everyone ~~

Needed some advice and who better to turn to!

My husband and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage while we're down in Disneyworld (7/5-7/13) and since he's such a great husband and father, I was trying to think of something special to do. I was thinking of having dinner at the California Grill and watching the fireworks but they wouldn't be happening until almost 10 p.m. Another thought was having dinner at Victoria & Alberts but that would be too much to expect my 4 year old son to be quiet and behave for that long a time (if they even allowed him in there LOL). Do you have any other suggestions of what we could do? I'd greatly appreciate any help or comments! :D

Congratulations

What a wonderful way to spend your anniversary. You can contact guest services at your resort and ask them for ideas. WDW can do many different things to make your day special; all you have to do is ask.

some more suggestions:

illuminations fireworks cruise
la nouba

just time with the ones he loves will make his day special. let him know that and that will be truly special.

Congratulations on ten years together! My wife and I will celebrate five years together on July 4th. Sadly, we won't be at WDW for it. But we will be on vacation!

My husband and I will also be celebrating 10 years together this year. We are doing the 7 night land and sea. He knows about the trip. What he doesn't know is that I added on Disney's new Romance package. Champagne horse drawn carriage ride, and choices of things like a photo session at MK, La Nouba, a spa treatment, or dinner at a Signature restaurant. More extras on the cruise as well but that's what you can get on land. You can book a carriage ride on it's own (not part of a package) too.

If you don't want to go the package route, I would recommend champagne carriage ride, dinner at a Grand Floridian or Polynesian restaurant, then go share a hammock in the moonlight down on the beach as the fireworks go off over Cinderella's Castle. Passionate kisses guaranteed!

Hi everyone ~~

Thank you all for such great recommendations! :D

Well, inasmuch as we wanted to include our 4 year old son, I opted to make a PS at the California Grill (15th floor) of the Contemporary. They got us in at 8:15 p.m. and am hoping that we're able to get a window seat and watch the fireworks over the castle! What a magical memory that would be...celebrating 10 years as we watch the fireworks. Hopefully it will all work out.

Again, thank you all so much for your replies!:D

Make sure that they know at the restaurant (in the PS, if possible), that it's your anniversary. They'll usually make extra sure that you enjoy yourselves if they know that it's a special occasion.

try http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/

on our honeymoon I surprised my wife with a scavenger hunt through the magic kingdom. it took her through winnie the pooh ride and she got a gift after the ride then onto the christmas shop then to main street, and at the end was 2 wine glasses and a romantic CD and candles and I had a champaign basket waiting in our hotel rom when we got back. They have lots of ideas, one of my favorites is haveing their pixies through out the park getting your trip all on fim without him or her knowing, and at the end of the trip surpriseing him or her with a album of the trip. take a look they are wonderful.

Thank you again for your replies!:D

A little souvenior (such a cute commercial), we'll think about that one! LOL Staying in the hotel room all night with our 4 year old son next to us, could prove to be interesting! LOL When I made the PS, I did tell the CM that we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and we talked for a little bit. Told her what we really wanted to do was renew our vows but my parents couldn't make it down for this trip.:brick:

I love the idea of the pixies! I'm just afraid that my son wouldn't do the Neverland Club as for the past few weeks (since preschool ended) he's been attached to me at the hip. I'm afraid that he'd make a scene about me leaving and then I'd be worried about him all night upsetting the other kids.

Definitely will do the pixie thing again...maybe on a trip with just my husband and me!:D

I'm glad my wife and I got to spend a few days there sans son. We got to make a little "magic" during the nights ourselves ;) ...no little magical "souvenir", though! :D
